(40+ 2 according to my charting). It didn't hurt to have it done. But this morning when I woke up I thought I lost some of my mucus plug. Didn't seem like a lot that's why I say "some". Afterwards I keep having more and more when I go to the bathroom so think I'm loosing it in "bits". But omg the cramping is brutal. It's been about 12hrs since I had it done. Nothing timeable but seriously ouch! Some doctors will suggest it before doing it. I literally said, "Is there anything you can do to get this baby out of me" so... I opened myself up (I was already open to it to be honest). It's usually suggested when you're overdue, if your cervix appears favorable. I'm due Sunday but my doctor did a little membrane sweep because I'm fully effaced and 2 cm and was contracting on and off yesterday (timeable, then nothing, then timeable, then nothing). I have GD too so I think they'd rather me go sooner than later (even though everything looks fine).</p> <p>I'm contracting now, not sure how regularly as I've only had a couple, and there's some blood, which he warned me about. </p> <p>Anyway, did anybody have their membranes swept, and did it help kickstart things? I'm not holding my breath but it'd be nice. The doctor is predicting labor by this weekend *shrug* </p>
