I had mine done at 40 weeks exactly. Baby was here within hours. This was for my second. I didn't have it for my first. We were encouraged to have sex and it helped ease the pain from the contractions.

Had a membrane sweep before lunch at around 38 wks with baby #2....had baby #2 in my arms shortly after dinnertime. Lots of cramping that lead to contractions in between.

I had my membranes swept on my due date, at 1cm dilated and 90% effaced. It was VERY uncomfy and I could feel, like, "strings" snapping.... so I think it was a legit sweep. However, sadly, no cramping or contractions, and I didn't go into labor until I was induced at 41+1, and LO wasn't born until 24 hours later on 41+2.

SEems early to sweep! Membrane sweeping put me into labor. Both times I delivered within a couple of days. My dr swept me @ 38 weeks.

I had a membrane sweep at 38 and 39+4 weeks. I did not go into labor after, despite having tons of contractions / cramping and losing my plug.

She was born on 39+6. I was already in early labor when my "gentle induction" started.

I got a membrane sweep yesterday morning at 37+3. The whole day I had insane cramping. I had read cramping is pretty normal, but I am past 24 hours and still having cramping and back pain. This is my second.

Wondering others experience with membrane sweeps and labor.
