We had to move her out of it because she was rolling around in it. Silly freakishly strong baby. We sleep trained, took a week

Can I ask why you are trying to move her out now? The primary reason we had to get her out of it was because had just about figured out how to roll in it and her sleep went to shit anyways. With the sleep sack and sleep training she learned to sleep on her side or stomach and sleeps much better now. (Well, not NOW because she figured out today that she can sit up in her crib... so today sucks. But generally lol).

@LBee: I figured that when she was ready to be out of it the transition should go easy. So we just kept trying until it went fine. I read lots of posts about it, and even wrote one similar to yours, because it was going so horribly. But I am glad we were patient with it and didn't push it on her.

@sashaskog: I needed this story!! This is exactly what happened -- even with the hour wake-ups!

Our LO used the Merlin for quite some time. We tried weaning her a couple times and it went horribly - she would wake up every hour on the hour until we would put her back in. So we figured she wasn't ready. So about a month later we decided to just give it a go and magically had no issues whatsoever. She slept just as good as normal. We just made sure she had a lovey instead because she would use the sleeve of the Merlin to rub on her face to self soothe. So for us, we just had to do it at the right time and it went just fine.

lol! Well we lost it, switched to a sleep sack, and sleep trained at the same time. It was a rough 2 hrs at bed time on night 1 then smooth sailing (mostly) thereafter.

I have no experience with the suit but our lo liked the weight of the aa dream blanket. I tucked it in on 3 sides of the crib and started using it around 5 months after we swaddle weaned. I never felt like he was unsafe with it in the crib. It's heavy, but the bamboo is breathable. I love it!

When did you do it and was it bad?

Any advice?

I don't want to lose it's magic!! People keep telling me it isn't a big deal and when he's ready he will easily transition. Well, I tried a few nights ago and he's definitely NOT ready. It was a disaster.

I'm looking at you, Mae.
