I do notice that when I eat too many carbs I tend to have more of the stomach side effects. I am on 2000mg now, but it took me a while to work up to that dose.</p> <p>My doctor started me on 1500, and I took 3 pills per day (one with each meal). I think breaking up the doses really helped me out. </p> <p>I would say it took me a good 4 weeks (maybe closer to 6) before my body adjusted. I'm sorry you're experiencing side effects! I found that the most effective thing was to take it at night, and to drink small amounts of water throughout the day. I don't get nauseous and i think that may be because i fall asleep right after. Have you ever looked into taking Pregnitude? It was so bad that I was dry heaving and had to keep eating crackers or drinking water to keep myself from throwing up last Friday. </p> <p>When I take 1000 mg of Metformin, my nausea goes away (or at least I don't see it as much). I've noticed this twice so far that I'll start getting severe nausea about 3pm (about 15 hours after I take Metformin). I thought it was food related at first because of how late in the day my nausea started but when it happen yesterday, I've concluded that it has to be the high dose of Metformin. </p> <p>Anyone else have side effects like this? Or other side effects?</p> <p>I'm going to talk to my dr today about the nausea and see if I can stay at 1000 mg and not go up to 1500 mg. </p> <p>Oh, I know I'm suppose to eat when I take Metformin and I made sure I ate on Tuesday night. It still didn't help. </p>
