My RE had told me to stay on the Metformin for the entire pregnancy and it's helped my GD diagnosis now. I stayed on the metformin until 12 weeks. She had me use the smiley ones (she hates the messing with the strip ones so I just followed her advice) CD 10-20. I got one smiley on CD 18 and DTD 3 times that day and the next, and that did the trick! (I was out of town without DH 5 days before O!!! Did not think it would happen! Glad I O'd a few days later than "typical!") We've been trying for almost 18 months now and still haven't gotten a BFP. I know of some people who got their BFP with just metformin, but for us unfortunately it will take more than that.</p> <p>You can still use OPKs with met and they are accurate. My only advice about Met is to take it after you have had a big meal, like dinner. One of the side effects of it is stomach issues.
