@avivoca: 6 bucks!! That seems like a no brainier. I'll get one when I'm in BBB next time. Thanks!

@Raindrop: You should get a cabinet organizer for your spices if you don't have one already. It was LIFE-CHANGING when I got mine (I was pregnant and nesting lol). This is the one we have and it saves so much space in my cabinet, plus I can see all my spices!

@ALV91711: @snowjewelz: Thanks it has been working great there so far... in the half a day it's been living there. :)

@yin: Ah I worried about that too... I had a TON of stuff in that little area... like a bunch of junk. DH loves it now because it's so clear. We agreed to only put oil there. I use to have all my spices there too... but we cleared the bottom of the cabinet above the oil and I have my spices there. It really feel more open and clean now. It's actually working out well for us. Hopefully we can keep it up! Thanks! I totally worry about it... but we can move it if it doesn't work for us.

Hands down 2nd option! I hate clutter so I try to hide everything if possible!!

Would you have problems swinging the door open? Before mounting to the cabinet, I ran into issues with having to clear space before opening the door to use the microwave. Maybe that won't be an issue since it's right next to the range, and you only have oil nearby.

Definitely option 2, since what else could you really use that corner for.

I'd definitely find things to keep on top of it too!

Close to 2 weeks without a microwave. This is so nice.

@avivoca: haha thanks!! Funny DH just called me and I told him my dilemma and he said to put in the corner - it is not like we can't ever move it! Haha he is so right. I just didn't want to uproot my kitchen again but in the grand scheme moving it won't be terrible if it turns out it doesn't work out for us. Thanks!! :)

@Raindrop: Don't worry about them. Think about how you use your kitchen. Are you using that awkward corner to prep food? If so, maybe you can put up a shelf to give you some access to the counter space while still having it over there

@T.H.O.U.: can't really angel it bc the user manual says there needs to be 3 inches on side for venting. It is just about 3 inches on each side. So I lucked out there. Good suggestion though! :)

I just noticed the picture doesn't show it with 3 inches on each side. But it should have 3 inches on each side and I did measure it. Just so happens I didn't put in the exact correct position when I snapped the picture. Aka it should be closer to the cabinets to the right.

@chopsuey: Thanks!

I have one friend and my mom are sort fighting for option 1 which is why I am second guessing option 2 (which is what I like). But she and my mom make some valid points about easy access!

Option 2 looks perfect imo! It's tucked away and looks less like a mircrowave eye sore too there.

Option 2! It's an out of the way corner that is pretty much unusable space for anything other than storage, so the location is perfect. You need the other space for chopping/prep work.

Argh! I just can't decide where to put the microwave. We use to have an over the range microwave but there was major drama with that.

Just got the on the counter one... And I can't decide where to put it. I was just about to plug it in... when I decided to text all my friends and it was a 50/50 split.

So I don't want to plug it in yet .. So I think I just wait for DH to come home. I really can't cook since our floor is covers with all the stuff that use to be on our counters so I can rearrange it when we figure out where the microwave will live. I am thinking take out for tonight. Ha!

Why is this so tough!?!?

1. On the counter to the left of the stove. It would be easy to get to.. But we would loose a lot of useable counter space for like chopping and stuff.

2. In this small area but it is side ways... Can't have stuff in front of it but we won't lose any prepping cutting space... It might be hard to reach for things.

Which one would you do?
