I had this, and successfully conceived within 2 months...if you are concerned though I would check with your Dr.

@mrs.halfsie: I want to say 100mcg, but not sure of each B vitamin in it-- it was whatever the pills at Trader Joe's had. They had specific B6 or B12 in pill or one of those strips that melts on your tongue, or the B Complex in a pill.

Good luck-- I hope your naturopath can help!

@hergreenapples: thanks! I will try a B-Complex. We've been trying for almost a year and this started up only when we were ttc. I'm actually seeing a naturopath right now! I get test results from her this Saturday. We'll see what she says about progesterone levels.

@foodnerd81: What was your dosage on the B Complex?

I took a progesterone test with my RE and I was on the low side - but she never said I needed to fix anything and just wanted me to start with Clomid and IUI rather than diagnose my problem. Hopefully I'll get some answers this weekend. Trying to stay positive!

I'm the other end of the spectrum. I had spotting before getting my period almost every month before starting Clomid and I'm still not pregnant. But in my testing with the RE, progesterone wasn't mentioned as a problem. It's good to take note of it and ask your doctor if you are concerned.

@hergreenapples: I had the same thing, pretty heavy spotting for several days before AF and I was worried it was a progesterone issue. I took a B complex from O until AF and it helped a little, but I was still spotting some. I got pregnant on our second try, so it wasn't a sign of a problem for me.

It could be or it might not be. Not helpful...sorry! You might want to look into supplementing with a B complex. I had spotting in my LP and was worried it was progesterone related. Then I got pregnant on my second try.

So, while it certainly could be a symptom of low progesterone, it could also be nothing to worry about. I found that working with a naturopath was really helpful :)

A few months into ttc, I starting spotting starting 7-9 dpo until AF - and now it occurs every month. The first time it happened, my period started (incredibly painfully and suddenly). Now, the same thing happened again! I will spot about 7-9 dpo, it will start to taper off and then BAM! AF. I've heard that is could be progesterone related. Any success stories out there with this problem and using progesterone?
