I'd be okay with it since it's the middle name.

Thanks guys! She is pretty low key, so I don't see her getting upset about it. DH thinks it isn't a big deal since it is just the middle name, but I am worried she would be upset. I just don't know how to ask her without her figuring out I am talking about her name. I honestly don't see them having another, so probably is a mute point anyway.

I wouldn't care about the middle name. We're going through a name conflict right now about our DD's first name so I really wouldn't mind if someone took her middle name. I don't even think I know all of my friends' middle names!

I don't think a middle name would be an issue for me if I were in your friend's shoes, but if I were in your position I might still ask her just so that there were no hard feelings...although if you asked, she said don't use it and you used it, that would be worse! I think people shouldn't tell their baby names just to avoid situations like this--you can't truly call a name in advance.

I would't care. Her middle name is my sisters name, and we did that for my sister. I agree with @Foodnerd81: they barely count! lol!

I don't think I would be that worried about it because it's a middle name, and no one really uses that name when addressing someone, you know?

DH and I are keeping our little girl's name a secret until she is born. We have decided 100% on the first name. DH came up with a middle name. I think it goes really well with the first name.

My only issue is my good friend has said that she wanted it for a girl's name if she had a girl. She ended up having a boy and she has said that they don't think that they will have a 2nd. I am afraid that she will upset if we use it as a middle name in case they do have another child and it is a girl. I can't ask her cause I don't want her to know the middle name. She already guessed the first name, even though I didn't let her know she was right!!

What do you think? Would you care if someone used "your name" as a middle name? If you were her, would you still use it as a first name?
