Charlie used to throw up sometimes at night and it turned out to be a dairy sensitivity to his nighttime bottle of cow's milk. We switched him to soy and then help milk, and he stopped throwing up!

Mostly no...thanks for asking!

1) we limited nighttime bottle volume (even though we were concerned with calories)
2) we switched to whole cows milk fortified with whole milk powder from pediasure (biggest issue I think)
3) we bottle weaned and he takes a lot less volume from his sippy.

Only one puke in the last two weeks!!

@Mrs Green Grass: hey - what ever happened with this? Is D still throwing up?? Hopefully not!

My son has done this a few times, for different reasons ... He just did it tonight - he was coughing so maybe that did it, or he ate too much? Who knows - so sad.

Ugh. It happened AGAIN last night. I'm already at work and the nanny just told me. (We have a monitor on always so he didn't cry...) Peds office doesn't open for 40 minutes, but then I'll be teacher...such a pain in the butt! I'm hoping we can figure out a real reason for this!

Aww...poor little guy! I don't have any suggestions unfortunately.

We've found my LO twice with puke on himself in the morning. The first time he was totally unaware...there was puke in his hair and all over the crib. He was fine that day though. The second time he was sleeping in and I had to wake him for daycare. I went in and wanted to take a photo of him sleeping. When I looked at the photo on my phone I saw that he had puked!!! What an awful way to find out. Anyway, that day he ended up staying home because he had vomited his breakfast (but was totally fine for the rest of the day).

Does anyone else experience middle of the night puking?

Background: the first MOTN puke was when D was about 6 months. He didn't cry and we didn't find out til morning. The second and third times happened in a row so I was more worried. We took D in and he had an ear infection. Vomiting isn't a common symptom but can be one. Those two were full wake-ups with crying. Then he puked again two nights ago (8 days post meds starting). Again we didn't find out until morning. He missed one dose of amoxicillin that day, but otherwise everything was normal.

He also throws up his bedtime bottle frequently, but it's different since its all milk (not bile). He's on pediasure during the day but I only give him half ped and half formula at night in case the extra calories are making it too hard for him to handle that bottle. It's typically higher volume than the rest of the day.

Finding out your LO puked during the MOTN is so sad! I read one thing that sometimes kids throw up when they are hungry. Or it could be reflux related, or sickness.... Anyone else have a story or suggestion?
