My DD had some mild eczema too. Pedi told me to stick with moisturiser. I put Cetaphil on the patch 3 times a day and it disappeared in about 3 days.

Our doctor only recommends cortisone cream for very severe outbreaks. It is pretty strong and can have side effects like affecting a child's growth of you use it over a long time. Mustela has an eczema line but we just used a lotion our dermatologist prescribed which was formulated (compounded) from glycerine, talc and cold cream.

L has mild eczema too. sometimes the patches get kind of bad looking (red/blotchy) and she kinda scratches at them. but if we are diligent about applying lotion (cetaphil) on it every night, it usually clears up within a few days. i haven't really noticed a connection b/w foods and her eczema, but since we feed her a lot of different stuff now, its kind of hard. i have eczema, so i think she must have inherited it from me =/

CeraVe cream works wonders! We use this to keep both boys moisturized well, they both have mild eczema. As long as we use this on them, their eczema stays away. :)

We had it on his belly for a while --- used hydrocortisone and it cleared up in a week or so --- haven't noticed any food allergy relation. He hasn't had it since.

We have a weird issue with eczema as well. LO has a patch of discolored skin on the back of his arm. It honestly looked just like ringworm, but at our 6 month appointment our ped said it was eczema. He didn't seem concerned about it though. I honestly need to do a better job of keeping something on it. He mentioned hydrocortisone cream. I honestly keep forgetting to get some though. Subscribing.

LO has a case of mild eczema on his torso--it's not really red, just patches of little flesh colored bumps. At first I wasn't even sure it was eczema because it didn't seem to bother him at all and I thought it would have been itchy, but the pedi said it is indeed eczema. She didn't really give me any guidelines for treating it, just said to keep it moisturized. I've been using exederm cream and aquaphor on top at night after his bath...anyone have any other remedies for a mild case of eczema? I use aveeno natural body wash for him (it's the unscented one with oatmeal recommended for dry skin)--should I switch to a different kind? Also, the pedi said it probably had nothing to do with his diet, but has anyone found a link between eczema and foods their LO was eating? He hasn't shown any sensitivities to anything as far as I can tell.
