From what I understand, having BM on the teeth is not the same as food/juice/etc. we nurse until drowsy still at almost 20 months so we brush her teeth before we go into her room for diaper, Jammies, and nursing.

I wouldn't worry about it until you bottle wean! A few of my friends are dentists and they say falling asleep with a bottle is the worst! Otherwise, just move the milk before teeth brushing to create good habits!

We just started doing this (LO is 14 months old). We don't do a MOTN feeding, but we switched up his bedtime routine to brush after his evening nursing. Before it was pjs, nursing, bed, and now we do pjs, nursing, teeth, story, bed. It's been a couple weeks since we started doing this, and now whenever I take him into the bathroom he says "feefth". It takes him a little longer to fall asleep that it used to, but it's been working out pretty well.

For the MOTN feeding, is she falling asleep while eating? Maybe you could keep a night light in the bathroom and quickly brush her teeth in the dim light after the feeding?

ETA - do you need to do the brushing during the bath? We just give LO his own toothbrush to hold and he's happy for us to brush his teeth with the other toothbrush.

So at DD's one year wellness appt our doctor said we shouldn't feed her after we brush her teeth. We always brush her teeth during bath, then jammies, storytime, bottle/nurse, sing, in bed. She also wakes up once in the middle of the night for a quick nursing session. I can't figure out how to NOT feed her after brushing. I suppose I could give her a bottle before bath but that MOTN feeding is gonna be hard. Do you guys not give your LO any milk after brushing?? Oh yeah, and I guess I need to figure out how to bottle wean too. Ha!
