I think WinnieBee convinced her insurance to cover it. I would ask her about her experience.

We didn't try. We are going to deduct the difference between what a regular baby eats and the cost of what our baby eats on our taxes. Because formula in our case was supplemental food. I know one mother has finally been able to get her formula covered. You should be able to use a Flex Spending account on it if you get the prescription.

No experience, hoping your insurance covers it and think I recall @winniebee posting something about her issues with getting it covered by her insurance on a board post. You might want to search.

LO developed a milk allergy at 6 months and we've since switched to Nutramigen and so far, it's working! It's expensive (averages out to $12 a day!) a small cost for LO's well-being but we're crossing our fingers that once we get a prescription, it'll be covered by the health care system! We won't know until the end of the week though.

If your LO had a similar allergy, did your insurance cover formula?
