If you use a needle don't poke straight in, that increases the chance of infecting yourself with something (and the blister will re-seal easier), use the needle to scrape the surface of the blister gently, then let your LO nurse, repeat that until it opens and drains. It is more tedious, but works better (my breastfeeding course instructor gives these instructions to moms, I haven't actually tried it myself).

I couldn't get heat or scrubbing to open it up so I used a needle :/ it worked right away though - milk came squirting out and instantly felt better.

You can pop it with a sterilized needle, or you can try putting a cotton ball soaked in olive oil against it inside your bra for a little while to soften it, then take a warm shower and rub it gently with a washcloth to open it up.

I noticed a yellowish white bump on the tip of one of my nipples. It's painful when I touch it. I'm assuming it's a milk blister. Anyone have any tips on how to heal it?

I've tried epsom salt saline solution and thinking but adding heat. Can I put on any topical ointment to speed up the healing? I don't want any type of infection esp mastitis.
