@Mrs. Taco: Aw thank you so much, your response actually made me tear up and feel better. I feel really guilty but the whole point of me EP-ing was to avoid how awful breastfeeding was the first time around because it really took over my life and caused me so much stress, and this has turned into a similar situation. I just know I will be a much better wife/mother/human if I stop. Now I just have to get there!

@HappyBaker: You are doing what I wish I did...I EPed for FAR too long because I put unnecessary pressure on myself. Proud of you for lasting this long and realizing when it became a detriment to your life. Big hugs  (well after your chest feels better :silly: )

Thanks for the advice everyone!

I've decided to stop pumping, I had a wonderful 3 day run with no clogged nipple pores where my boobs felt soft and amazing, and now they are back with a vengeance after being super diligent about exfoliating / using oil / etc.

I just can't take the pain anymore, I feel like I am a raging bitch all the time because my chest hurts SO MUCH. I'm also only producing 13 ounces a day at this point for some reason and I just don't have it in me to do more than I am right now.

I am prone to those too. I would wipe/rub your nipples clean with a damp washcloth after pumping, rub a little oil on them (or an oily salve like Earth Angel Mama Baby nipple balm) and that should keep you pretty golden during the day. When baby nurses, their tongue and spit keep the pores clear but not so when pumping. I exfoliate the nips in the shower every night and just try to drink a lot of water during the day.

It's the same for me also. In the past week I've been making sure to scrape the nipple area just in case there is anything there, and I've also been putting the lansinol gel/olive oil every day and so far it's been OK. I don't know whether I'm getting milk blisters or its dried milk, all I know is that there are clogs in the nipple pore and nothing will work other than tweezing them out!

I got them a lot too--about once a week for a looong time. I don't know what finally happened, but they stopped happening about 6-8 months in.

(Are they blisters or dried milk? Blisters actually have a bubble, but the dried milk is crusty.) I wouldn't lower speed unless it's blisters.

Try pumping at a lower speed. The lowest that produces milk is best. Then I would just "exfoliate" every time you shower.

I don't pump much, but I found that I got milk blisters all the time the first few months of breastfeeding. I found that using a needle to not only puncture them but also pull the overlapping skin off/away made them stay away longer. Eventually they seemed to stop coming and I haven't had a milk blister in months now.

Oh gosh, that is really annoying! And painful! I had a recurring milk bleb that would happen every few weeks so i had to pick at it with a needle for a few months. It went away on its own though. No advice really. Hope it goes away soon for you too!

I am EPing and finally realized what I thought were reoccurring clogged ducts are actually milk blisters that keep coming back. This morning I scrubbed my nipples with a washcloth and got them all open but by tonight they were back and I feel like I have to pick at them every time I pump or else they prevent milk from getting out and my boobs start to kill.

I'm 12 weeks postpartum and pumping 4 times a day, and I take 3 lecithin every day.

How do I get them to stop? This is getting ridiculous! Someone mentioned olive oil but do I need to walk around all day with olive oil cotton balls in my bra??
