@Coco Bee: A short time of extra nursing shouldn't hurt the sleep beyond repair and would help the supply immensely. A few days to catch up should be okay and may give you time to troubleshoot and find a better solution.

@brownie: I was actually able to pump an extra 3 oz during Cobi's nap!

I am just afraid that with doing a dream feed it will make Cobi wake up more than once thru the night.

@Coco Bee: You could put back a dreamfeed. So, before you go to bed at 9 or 10 you feed mostly asleep. I find when my little guy was tired he took to eating better. (We also co-bed and reverse cycle). It could be a growth spurt too and it is just taking a bit to catch up. Spend a few days nursing a lot and see if that helps.

@runsyellowlites: We coslept for awhile but DS's sleep was terrible after a couple months of it. He sleeps SO much better on his own. I've tried to get him to sleep with us a few times cause I love his snuggles but he just really wants his own space. It's kinda sad :(

@Coco Bee: Like I said, we co-bed after DDs first waking so we both kinda dream feed so I'm not nearly as affected as when she was sleeping in the R&P and I was getting up for each feeding. It's seriously saved our, well my, life! Lol

@runsyellowlites: ummm... that does not sound desirable at all lol!!! I worked hard to get down to one night feeding!

That's great she doesn't seem interested, DS was enthralled with us eating since 4 mos old. We held off until 5 mod and couldn't take it anymore.

@rachiecakes: SO CUTE!! Whenever Cobi eats he goes "mmmmm" the whole time. DH and I say that he sounds like Bob in "What About Bob".

@sloaneandpuffy: I have wondered if it might be coming back soon. I have had increased CM (sorry, TMI!) and I haven't had any up until now.

My sister's son is 12 months and she still has no AF. I'm hoping to make it that long lol!!

@rachiecakes: lol! DD is 5 months and at this point could care less about us eating, hopefully she'll stay that way for awhile! *fingers-crossed*

@prettylizy: Reverse cycling is where you do more feeding through the nighttime hours. As long as baby gets their needed calories in a 24hrs it doesn't matter "when" in that timeframe they get it. We co-bed & dream feed ALOT since many times DD nurses better when she's very sleepy! Lol

following this post... we just start solids today on DS's 6m "birthday" I have had supply issues during our breastfeeding journey so I am nervous about this happening to me too one DS starts eating more.

@coco bee... I agree with the oatmeal suggestion, I eat that a lot to help with supply. Also, and this can depend on how consistent of a sleeper your DS is, but after my son goes to bed (around 7:30/8) I pump then before I go to bed around 10:30. My son has been going 10+hours at night without eating for a couple months now and I have had to actually wake up in the middle of the night some to pump too to keep up supply.

Personal question but do you think your period could be coming back? That happened to me around the time we introduced solids (6 months) and it was a double whammy. I had enough milk but less than before and it freaked me out, especially every month right before my period when my supply would dip quite a bit.

Will he comfort nurse? I would just let him nurse as much as he will on that side to help stimulate more milk. Maybe even try giving him a pacifier (if he takes one) to get him calm sucking and then switch. Sometimes that works for DD when she's fussing at the breast.

I ordered it from Amazon. I think including shipping it was just under $15. It came really quickly too. While researching I read very good things about straight Fenugreek too though. Its one of the ingredients in MMSB. If you do consider it, I'll warn you it tastes horrendous :) But you get used to it

I take domperidone after 2pm everyday (through a prescription from my midwife). My LO sometimes does the unlatching and fussing but he seems to do that when he's just not that hungry. When I unlatch him and try a little bit later he does better.

I also take More Milk Plus, and domperidone. The combo of both has boosted my supply enough to produce approx 1/2 of what my LO needs :/ better than nothing I suppose!
I also drank the Weleda nursing tea like it was the answer to all my problems but I actually didn't find it to be as useful as the pills :)

Are you out on that side, or is it just that he doesn't like working for it after the letdown? I used to swap toddler girl back and forth a few times a feed at that age, I think because she didn't like that my letdown wasn't as hard anymore.

I always had one side he didn't like as much. I kept him on there as much as possible. We would nurse more at night when he was tired and less likely to fight. I did do the Mother's Milk Tea for a while around that time. And after the solids got boring (no longer a new thing) he went back to feeding better.

@BabyBoecksMom: that would be amazing!! I really want to build a freezer stash too just in case he does wean himself. Where did you buy the MMP?

@runsyellowlites: It has happened a lot with some friends of mine, and many times they weren't even aware of it. I'm trying to be really proactive about it.

@cvbee: It might. I have tried pumping a few times and it's just so frustrating getting so little. I've been pumping for a few feedings this week to see how much I can get and it's usually only about 3-4 oz.
