I did this! Forgot the valves for my pump. I had a meltdown about it when I realized, but after a good cry in my little lactation closet, I bucked up and hand expressed. I was really amazed by how much I got! But as @kiddosc said, I am not turning in my pump anytime soon. (Also, thanks iPhone for turning the word pump into pimp every time I type it. What's that about?)

I keep a manual pump in my desk at work just in case I ever forget to bring mine or part of mine!

LOL, I was just going to start a thread about this. After being back at work for 3 months I forgot parts to my pump for the first time yesterday. I waited as long as I could, then finally had to hand express in the afternoon when I was getting too uncomfortable. "how to hand express breastmilk" is now in the search record on my work computer... awesome. It was super weird at first, but after I got the hang of it it was like a challenge to see how much I could get. Ended up with around 8 oz... and only missed the bottle and sprayed milk at the wall like 5 times. I'm not turning in my pump anytime soon.

Um, sadly yes. The night we left the hospital we left a key pumping part at the hospital and DH had to milk me or as a lactation consultant called it "self expression". It was awful.I still have nightmares of him squeezing milk out of my boobies. Thank god it was only one session, it hurt. I made him run to the hospital at midnight and get the pumping part we were missing because I didn't want him to have to "self express" my boobies again.

Of course, I forgot a key part to my pump so I am milking myself! Anyone ever had to milk themselves because they couldn't get access to a pump? Do share your (horror) stories :)!
