I bought this book in March bc my 3.5 yo was struggling with calming down his silliness. He still requests to do a page or two every night (“don’t forget my breathing book mama!”) and the exercises have been easy to implement in and outside of the house. He tells me “I need to breathe to help me to calm my body” totally unprompted after just 2 months of reading it.

My kids also love Cosmic Kids and I often give yoga poses as one option for helping to calm down when they feel out of sorts. I also prompt deep breaths as a calm down technique.

We also listen to the Peace Out podcast, which starts with a guided meditation and then has relaxation stories.

We bought the set from Generation Mindful. I'd say the focus of the program is more on emotional regulation and emotional intelligence.

Obviously these books are for parents, but they have a ton of practical suggestions and are very focused on mindfulness. Whole Brain Child, No-Drama Discipline and The Yes Brain are all wonderful resources.

My kids like the activities and guided breathing in this book: Calm: Mindfulness for Kids https://www.amazon.com/dp/1465470905/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_r0e3CbYHPK2R4

We also do Cosmic Kids yoga on YouTube which incorporates some mindfulness-ish ideas.

It’s specifically Catholic, but we recently bought “Sitting like a saint: Catholic mindfulness for kids” and I really like the stories and exercises. But you have to be cool with saint life stories.

What mindfulness resources have you used with your children? We have very basic tactics from a previous daycare center but looking to deepen our resources for day to day. DD is 4.
