Making sheets and skirts isn't too hard of a project once you figure out the dimensions. I wanted a fluffier fitted sheet and found tutorials all over Pinterest.

We were just joking yesterday that we should have gotten a mini crib since our boy wedges himself into only one corner of his crib.

Our nursery is 5' 5"x 7'. So a mini crib was our only option! We got the davinci Emily mini crib in white. It converts into a twin bed. As far as bedding, I made sheets and am in the process of making a skirt!

I didn't know there was a such thing as a mini crib!! I really want to put a twin bed in our small 10 x 12 second bedroom which will be the nursery. I will have to look into this. Do they sell them at places like BRU or BBB so that I can actually see the size?

@LindsayInNYC: I believe the width on the mini crib is 40" compared to a full at 55"... someone correct me if I'm wrong!

We purchased a mini crib because we lived in a one bedroom but given the space, I would have selected a full sized crib.

We used a mini crib out of necessity, because it was the only thing that would fit in our daughter's room (closet). We loved it, but we had to get the bedding custom made, and she was in the 99th percentile for height, so she began to outgrow it at 8 months when she was out of the swaddle and wanted to spread her arms out to touch both sides. We ended up moving to a bigger place, so we found a jenny lind crib off craigslist and got different bedding. We'll use the mini-crib again with #2, and we'll hopefully transition our daughter to a big bed before #2 needs the crib, so I didn't find it to be wasteful. At least that's the plan, we'll see how that goes.

@rattles We also had the Davinci Annabelle and had fun painting it grey. :)

We have a mini crib (Davinci Annabelle), and I've been happy with it. LO is too young to weigh in on how long it'll last, but I'm reassured by the fact that what we consider mini is standard in Europe. I doubt my baby is bigger than all the babies there! I also liked that it converts into a twin bed (the standard ones we saw converted to full, which is too large for a kid's room in the city). All of that said, the full-sized crib you like is awfully pretty!

I think mini cribs rock, but based on the two you are deciding on I like the full size later.

I"m not sure what the best advice is for you... we are getting a mini crib because we live in a small apartment- but we are all pretty short. just sort of hoping that the baby doesn't grow out of it (we're okay with going straight into a twin bed from the crib)!

@tororojo: I definitely noticed that about the bedding. It seems like people who end up loving the size of the mini-crib say that finding bedding is a PIA...

We live in a 1-bedroom and have an area that's the size of a large closet designated as our nursery. I looked into mini cribs, but went with a regular sized one since it will last longer and can be used as a toddler bed, plus you can get full-sized cribs cheaper than mini ones, depending on what brand you go with.

I can't decide between a mini-crib and a full size! We're moving a few months before the EDD into a small 2 bedroom. We're not set on arrangements but have thought about there being a full size or twin size bed in the nursery for guests. That got me thinking about the mini.... However we're both tall and both sides of our families are tall and I don't want to have to buy another crib at 9months or so... so what do you think? These are the two I like...
