It is completely safe though. Supposedly the driver's side is safest because your natural instincts while driving are to protect that side. Some people say the middle of the mini van is the safest, but that might be hard since the middle would be the removeable seat between the captain's chairs, and those seats are kind of tiny and maybe hard to get a good install. Your other option might be 3rd row, middle seat. We drive a Toyota Sienna, and I don't know if I should put the car seat in one of the middle row bucket seats or in the middle all the way in the back.
