That is annoying. Can I whine too? We've been invited to dinner at my SIL's house and I'm definitely hesitating...we'll see MIl either way, but having dinner at SIL's house will so not be enjoyable or relaxing for me - I will spend the whole visit watching my kids like a hawk because her son will have tiny small toys (perfect for choking size!) scattered everywhere, and he also tends to be aggressive - last time we saw them I took my eyes off L for a second and my nephew pushed him down onto the cement, skinning his knee. Ughhh.

Okay, it's been well established that everyone has different feelings about Mother's Day. I do enjoy different seasons and holidays and creating a time and place to honor different things, so yes, I enjoy Mother's Day. I'm not going to pretend I don't.

We are going up to my Ils for the weekend, which is totally fine. I don't mind spending the day with my MIL. But I just realized my sil is coming home from college this weekend and will definitely make it all about her. She does not enjoy sharing the spotlight (there are some issues that run deep, there). And not that I need the spotlight on me, but she for instance gets annoyed if my MiL is spending more time with the kids than with her. And I just don't want to deal with that drama this weekend. :meh:
