I know not a toddler, but I've used Miralax with my one year old intermittently from 6 to 12 months of age (currently). She was on 1/2 tsp in 2 oz of water/juice/milk/whatever, but they told me to up to 1 tsp in same amount (or more liquid, but it guaranteed she'd take it in with less) after awhile because it wasn't really doing it.

my 4 year old nephew takes 1 tsp in about 8 oz once per day, due to dietary issues, too.

Thanks for the replies

@lulumom -we go the Ped next Tuesday to adjust her dose

@MrBee - thanks for the link! Looking back my son had a dairy allergy and was dairy free until 2 - he has no issues at all. I will look into the fish oil and other supplements too!

Right now I am limiting dairy to 2 times a day - I need to wean her, haha, she loves milk, yogurt and cheese!!!

Her stomach isn't hard at all but its still pretty big - my son's was flat by age 2.5 so sometimes I wonder if her diet/constipation is why?

maybe she is having tummy troubles. when charlie was super constipated, we used a suppository and it worked wonders instantly. sounds like the miralax is working though... so give it a little more time?

We struggled with this with our toddler too! Might be worth trying dietary changes?

@Mamaof2: I would give it another day or two, she still might be feeling the affects of the medicine doing its work, if not maybe call the doctor abotu reducing the dose to see if that helps her get back to her normal sleep?

has she pooped yet? It might be that she can feel the Miralax "working" and knows something is coming? If she's that backed up, she's probably a little uncomfortable.

I realize lots of moms have "babies" on here but hopefully some have older kids too =)

My daughter has been dealing with constipation issues since birth but her Ped 2 days ago decided to put her on Miralax after going 7 days w/o pooping.

Its been 2 days and her sleep has gone to hell! She usually goes right to sleep at 730pm and I wake her up at 630am. Now she is sitting up in her crib until 830pm and wakes at 5am! Maybe its a coincidence but nothing else has changed except the Miralax!

Anyone else here use Miralax? What was your experience?
