@Finfan: I had mine in for 6 months. Suffered through that pain for 4 of those months before I woke up covered in blood. That's probably why recovery was so long for me. I counted recovery time to be until those sharp pains stopped.

I am reading so many negative things about it on HB. I most likely will use the pill. Hope your surgery and recovery is quick!

@littleblessings: They told me recovery would be only 1-2 days but all the stories online said a few weeks so I'm skeptical. I need it to be as quick as possible since I just went back to work after maternity leave.

@peaches1038: I had mine inserted two weeks ago and three days later I felt a sharp, pinching pain. It kind of comes and goes and I take Advil. I'm annoyed it took this long to get diagnosed and I assumed they would do the surgery more quickly but they just said they would get me in this month.
It's terrible timing as I just went back to work from maternity leave and I don't want to have to explain why I need to take time off again so soon. :crying:

I had this experience. My concerns were removal, recovery time and fertility. Luckily mine was a minor perforation. It was an easy removal, recovery took about a month. From what my OB said I should still be able to have more kids. That was honestly my biggest concern.

My Mirena has perforated my uterus and I have a pre-op consultation with my OB on Monday. Needless to say I'm upset and scared. I know I'm going to be emotional and not thinking clearly during the appointment so I'm making a list of questions to ask. What would you want to know if this happened to you?

And I would love to hear from anyone who this has happened to what your experience was like.
