Thanks y’all, I just finished another ultrasound and baby hasn’t grown at all and no heartbeat still, so it’s confirmed. I’m going to take the medicine to induce miscarriage, I’m a little nervous about what is going to happen, but it is what it is.

Yeah, I think it's typically a chromosomal issue this early on, especially if there's no known other issues and you've carried healthy pregnancies before. FWIW, my hcg was 26,000 right before my D&C, but it was a blighted ovum. So low, but not super low considering there was no fetus.

As far as the HCG goes it takes a really long time to decrease so maybe you're was pretty high and starting to decrease?

@skinnycow: I was measuring 6+3 too, unlucky number for both of us
@bhbee: I think you’re right that it’s generally a chromosomal issue at this point. I guess it doesn’t really matter what happened exactly, I just like getting as much data as possible

I’m so sorry you’re in this place

I think almost all losses at this point are genetic ... I can’t speak to levels scientifically but wonder if the heartbeat just stopped (assuming you saw it earlier?). My trisomy loss last year we saw a heartbeat around 7w 5d or something, it was a little slow and baby a little behind but ob said it was probably fine. I started bleeding lightly red about 3 weeks later and the heartbeat had likely stopped pretty soon after my appt along with growth, but I’m assuming my levels dropped more slowly since even then the bleeding was light and not really the miscarriage starting (had a d&c later that week).

I’m 7w2d, I went for another ultrasound today and there is no longer a heartbeat detected. The baby is also measuring 6 days behind. I’m confident that I’m going to miscarry, and my doc said she’s not optimistic.
I had blood drawn and my hcg (89,000) and estrogen (360 and should be over 300) are normal. Does this just indicate there is probably a chromosomal issue?
