@hilsy85: I would start with a bottle. Fill it whatever you have to leave. But leave an empty cup and straw or empty zippy on the counter that they could dump into there if the bottle didn't go over well.

@MamaMoose: oh for sure! I guess I am just wondering if not nursing would totally screw with him taking a nap/going to bed if someone else is trying to do it! I guess I won't know til we try :)

@hilsy85: At home she always did much better with straw cups (that's what she drinks water from). But they use those cups at day care and she slurps all her milk right down. But part of that might be because she sees all her friends doing it, so it might be tougher for you to get your little guy to do it. The good news is, at his age, he's eating enough solid food that even if he doesn't have any milk at all in the time you're gone he'll be fine! So try not to stress too much.

@hilsy85: Since this is the first time trying it I would do a bottle so it's fewer transitions for him. Now that my LO is on straight WCM during the day she takes it from these: http://www.diapers.com/p/the-first-years-take-toss-spill-proof-cups-7-oz-6-pk-6019?site=CA&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc_D&utm_term=LC-008&utm_campaign=GooglePLA&CAWELAID=1338722649&utm_content=pla&ca_sku=LC-008&ca_gpa=pla&ca_kw={keyword}

@T.H.O.U.: you mean a cup of BM and a cup of WCM? Or a bottle of each? Or one bottle, one cup?

I would leave both cups out on the counter and let the sitter decide what works while in the moment.

@MamaMoose: would you do a bottle or straw cup? I guess I should start pumping now so I have time to build up a stash if I need to leave him for something!

I would pump a little bit of BM and mix with with WCM. He may surprise you and drink it. LO chugs her WCM at school and for her daddy but I have to really struggle to get her to take it from me.

LO is almost 14 months old and nursing 4x a day--morning, before each nap, and before bed. I haven't had to miss any of those nursing sessions in several months, so he hasn't had a bottle or anything. He also won't drink WCM and won't drink BM out of a bottle or a straw cup (at least he wouldn't when I offered it).

My question is if I need to miss one of those sessions (like if someone else needs to put him down for a nap or for bedtime) do I need to leave breastmilk for him? At this point, I really feel like he isn't getting that much when he nurses. Could I leave a cup of WCM and if he drinks it he drinks it, if he doesn't he doesn't? I ask mainly because I haven't pumped in ages and don't even know if I could get anything out, and I have almost no freezer stash.
