bumping! anyone else go through bad sleep when molars were coming in? how long did it last?

LO's sleep has been totally crap lately. Fighting naps like crazy, some days not napping at all, waking up around midnight and not going back down until 2am, and waking up super early. Sooo tired! Finally saw 1 molar come through on the top, now waiting for the rest...

Molars will be the death of us. He has two that are partially in, but I am dreading for the other side to start coming in. It has definitely affected our sleep. Plus, I'm trying to start the weaning process, but all he wants to do is nurse now. This too shall pass.... I hope.

I will say that the snot, chewing, ear pulling, drool finally hit a high and then his eyes started looking terrible so I took him into the pediatrician and he had an ear infection on top of his molars coming in. The perfect storm, right? That's when nighttime was the worst. Doctor said the ear infection could have come about because of all the fluid buildup caused by teething.

L woke once around midnight while cutting her molars. We figured it coincided with the end of her Tylenol dose. Hopefully J cuts them soon! She was such a crank pot for a few weeks there. I'd say after three weeks she and her sleep were back to normal.

Tell me how cutting molars affected your LO sleep ? I am trying to narrow down the culprit of our crappy sleep for the past 3 weeks. He has been up at least once each night and has to be rocked totally back to sleep. He used to put himself to sleep and now it is a total production ! He's chewing on his finger in the back of his mouth a lot and is snotty and fussy so I'm pretty sure he is cutting a tooth
