DD's came around 11 months, so a bit older...but she was sticking her fingers in the back of her mouth like that for a good month or so beforehand, so your LO's molars may very well be on the way. Out of order was really common in our baby group my DD is still missing all her incisors (though she has all her molars), while a few other kiddos got their incisors FIRST. They looked like fangs :) Good luck - teething is no fun.

LO just turned 8 months today and has the top 4 and bottom 2. I've noticed lately that he's been sticking his fingers in the back of his mouth a lot and I've been wondering about this. I guess we will see sooner or later!

@Katrocap: hehe yup! It's not uncommon for them to come out of order either. :)

@locavore_mama: Thanks! I saw on a teething chart that most babies' first year molars emerge between 13-18 months. I guess our LOs are just special

DS is 8 months old tomorrow. He has his top and bottom central incisors, his top lateral incisors and one bottom lateral incisor. Today at daycare his provider says she thinks he's teething. However I can't see any buds where the second bottom lateral incisor would be. Could he possibly be getting first molars at this age? Has anyone's LO gotten first molars so young?
