@snowjewelz: power wise I definitely prefer the medela versus ameda. But I love that the ameda is a closed system!

@regberadaisy: Eh I have the Ameda Purely Yours but I dont love it so I just use it as a spare at home!

@snowjewelz: yeah it's very apparent and in more than one spot. Ameda is a closed system too! I much prefer that than a open system.

I also always get milk in the tubes. It's annoying.

@regberadaisy: Where was it? Is it easy to see? I don't really look much.. I just let air pump through while I clean/pack up after each pump!

I want to look into getting a Spectra next time... The BF group I'm in on FB rave about it and it's a closed system.

Good thing you have extra tubes! I'm an odd size so when I buy my size online I get the kit that comes with extra tubes so I have quite a bit of spare tubing. :)

@Mamaof2: YES! I was bored and read the manual recently (pumping for 5 months now) and read that you are suppose to leave the pump running for a while to get rid of condensation. Never knew. :)

@Mamaof2: yeah I used to let my medela run for an extra 15 mins after I was done pumping. Removed any condensation.

@MrsBrewer: if I remember correctly you're actually not supposed to wash or sanitize the tubing at all UNLESS you get milk in them somehow.

@regberadaisy: I just found some about a week ago, I freaked out because I was at work without my spare set. So gross, I always thought I was so meticulous about drying them out too.

@regberadaisy: I never had mold but just make sure after you pump you keep pumping air thru the tube to get out any condensation

Yuck yuck yuck! Went to pump this morning and found mold in my tubing. Thank goodness I have a spare!

This is one of the things I don't like about medela parts. Too many nooks and crannies and it's not a closed system. :bummed:
