@Anya: ugh I had the same experience! It was awful. I had no idea what was going on they just bombarded me. Then, they wouldn't leave me alone! They kept coming back to see if I made up my mind, even when I was sleeping! I still get emails 13 months later. At least I'll be prepared next time to say no!!!

It felt really predatory. I was super emotional and tired that they actually almost got me to buy their crappy, overpriced products despite the fact I had already paid $750 for a newborn session with a pro!

Mom365 was the only thing I didn't like about my hospital stay experience. I wish I would have had the foresight to tell the hospital staff I didn't want them to visit us because in the moment there were so many legit visitors coming in and out that day that when the photographer showed up I couldn't really process what was happening fast enough to decline. The lady and her assistant were nice enough and took some cute pictures but then immediately started in on the hard sell of all their packages which really annoyed me. If she had come, snapped some pics and left the website info for me to look at later I probably would have gone on and purchased one or two of the pictures but since I had to make such an effort to cut off the sales spiel while I was in the middle of nursing my 0 day old baby I got rid of everything she gave me and will not be supporting this business in any way. I'm sure not all of them have the same tactics so it depends who you get.

@ktdid23: You might have better luck scheduling a session with an actual photographer who's work you've seen. You can probably find someone decent for a couple hundred bucks

Our Mom365 photographer was just the nursing staff that put your baby in a warming tray type thing that takes pictures. I was not impressed. The pics were bad.

I think it depends on the photographer. Ours came the day after DD's birth. We had a great experience and I ended up buying our announcements and a few pictures from them that were mailed to our home a week later. Luckily, I had a few newborn bows and headbands packed so we had those to work with. The photographer was really creative with her poses. I didn't buy the CD with all the images because it would have cost an additional $125. I just saved 2 announcements, 1 for her baby book and 1 for us to frame. I think we paid about $100 for our print selections. We already had a newborn session scheduled a week later for inhome shoots so I declined on getting the CD. I wished someone would have told me about them during our hospital tour before birth so I could have put on makeup and looked more freshened up. I don't remember anyone mentioning them. So most of the pictures are of baby only, a few with daddy but none of mommy and baby. I just felt so out of it that day. I had a C-section, stayed at the hospital for 4 days, was so emotional, and cried about everything. I was in no shape to take good newborn pictures but some mommies may recover faster so might not need help with good pictures. I am very glad someone was there to help me with it.

They were at our hospital and the photographer just randomly showed up at our room. No appointment or even advance warning. The photos aren't the greatest but I ended up buying them anyway because the settings on my own camera were messed up and I didn't realize it until after we got home (because obviously, that should have been the first thing on my mind, haha). I wanted some truly newborn shots that weren't underexposed and completely orange, so I'm glad we had the option to get them even though I still feel like they are a rip-off for the quality you get. Oh well. They've never contacted us since, though -- I was surprised to hear that they hassle other people because we never heard a peep from them after the original email they sent with the gallery link. The photographer never mentioned specific poses but DH was also in papa bear mode and was trying to get her out of the room ASAP so we didn't ask.

My two sons were born in the same hospital, but my first son never got these pictures taken. My second son had the Mom365, and I was underwhelmed. I didn't buy the pictures. I also had no idea when they were going to show up.

When we did them, the photographer said that she was only allowed to do certain shots, and couldn't do any that weren't specifically on the list. She did a pretty good job, but I have been super annoyed at how frequently they contact you afterwards to schedule more pictures (6 months, 9 months, etc)

The photos aren't spectacular/Pinterest worthy. I can't even remember picking an appt time. I was in the hospital for a week so it was nice having pictures when she was days old. I also used them to make the birth announcements. Saved me so much time and was sooo easy.

I can't remember pricing though. They will harass you in the future for your "free" picture and try to upsell you a first years package, photo gifts, trinkets, etc.

The major useful thing was the announcements but I could probably have done those myself.

We actually had no idea mom365 was a thing until the photographer showed up at our hospital room, but the pictures she took we were very very happy with and we are so glad we did it. They usually just make rounds kind of, but we asked if she could come back after DD's first bath and she was totally fine with that. So I would guess it depends on the photographer you get but ask and they might work with you. Here's an example of the pictures we got:

When I delivered my daughter in 2010, she went to the NICU for 5 days and we didn't use the newborn photographer in the hospital (we had our own that we went to a week later).

I am due in April and the hospital website suggests that they use Mom365 newborn photographers. Does anyone have any experience using the hospital photographer? I would LOVE for someone (besides me or my husband) to capture the first time my daughter meets her newborn brother and was wondering if that was something the Mom365 photographer might be able to do (if I'm able to plan for when the photographer would come to the room - I'd have my husband plan to bring our daughter about the same time).

Anyone have any information on this or if it's even something those photographers might do?

ETA: We moved to the area about a year ago so I don't have any friends that I'd trust to capture the shots, and I certainly don't want to be the one to take the photos as I assume I'll be the one holding my newborn :-)
