I totally conditioned myself to sleep through dog noise but now I wake up if LO rolls over :-)

Well, I've always been a light sleeper so I can't speak to that, but a week or two ago I was super exhausted, took a Tylenol PM, and slept through constant thunder and hail on our roof (which is super loud in our bedroom). Over that din and through two closed doors E crying out woke me up from a dead sleep in a split second. I wouldn't worry about it.

And the hardest and deepest I've ever slept in my life was during the first trimester. It's no joke!

Me! I used to sleep through everything, including smoke alarms! Now I wake up if the dog moves. I was so afraid I would sleep through the baby crying. It's only happened once or twice when I've been overly exhausted.

I'm a really deep sleeper as well - always have been. Before kids, nothing would wake me up, short of an explosion, now that I have a LO, I can sleep through most things, but will hear LO make the slightest noise. I think my body has learned to tune out everything else but my mummy radar picks up the slightest noise from my baby! I wouldn't worry, you'll hear your baby when s/he is here!

I've slept through earthquakes, fire alarms, and building evacuations - scary stuff!
As soon as LO arrived, any little noise wakes me up. Momma ears are a real thing!

I was a deep sleeper before kids...and I'm still a deep sleeper after 2 kids. Thankfully, DH is a seriously light sleeper and wakes me up as soon as somebody needs some attention, he hears every little squawk. I think I am more sensitive sometimes, like when I fall asleep, but I'm not positive that the kids are sleeping yet, I seem to keep an ear open for suspicious noise from their bedroom. But that's only happened since they're old enough to get out of bed, lol.

I once slept through a tree falling into the roof of my bedroom. Now I can wake up at the tiniest cough from LO! But only LO can wake me up. I'll still sleep through very thing else!

my mom still sleeps with a pillow over her head due to the mommy ears she developed 30 years ago! She says she used to sleep like a rock and ever since she had us she hears everything. I'm sure you'll be fine :)

My mom has always told me this was the case for her-- she used to sleep through anything and everything (so she says) but once she had kids-- bam, she can hear us whisper from across the house.

Plus, you are really early in your pregnancy, right? That first trimester tiredness is no joke. I actually have never slept better than I did in the first half of this pregnancy-- I laid down and would be OUT in 5 minutes. You don't look pregnant, but your body is doing some hard work!

We stay out at a campground for the summer. Last night we had a pretty severe storm for about 6 hours full of wind, heavy rain, and power outages. The big dock system was ruined and floated across the lake, some people's boats sunk, and our awning was smacking against the camper for a good ten minutes in the heavy wind before my husband was able to tie it down.

Or so I was told this morning...I slept through the ENTIRE thing. I don't think I even rolled over :-/ I felt pretty bad this morning when DH filled me in, but he said it was my body just letting me get all the sleep I can because I'll wake up to every noise once we have kids (he always knows what to say, haha!).

So, are there any other deep sleepers who grew into their mom/dad ears? I'm slightly terrified that I'll sleep through everything and anything...good thing DH wakes up. :-)
