It wasn't until college with a few hundred miles between us that I listened to her and saw her as a font of wisdom. </p> <p>I will say this. She knows me so well. There were times when I lied or didn't tell the complete truth that she knew everything. Our relationship has been awesome since my early 20's on. We knit together. She quilts and I help her with stuff. It's fun going on a fabric shopping trip with your mom and watch her spend as much as you do on yarn. I'm getting weepy just writing this. I remember the night before our wedding when she undid the christening bonnet which went on my bouquet. Both of us were bawling. (My parent divorced and I lived with my dad during HS). I wish I had listened to him more and asked him for his advice more often. Of course, at the time I thought that I knew better. HAHA. So stupid. </p> <p>Now when she gives me advice, I listen. </p> <p>Today my LO fought me like crazy when I tried putting her down for a nap. I knew she was tired, but LO wanted to play. It took a few minutes, but I eventually got her down to sleep. As I looked down at her sleeping cuteness I prayed that God bless her with wisdom and discernment. </p> <p>I hope she listens to me and heeds my advice when she's older. </p> <p>Do you wish you had listened to your mom more when you were younger? Does mom know best? </p>
