DS was a decent sleeper until his first ear infection at 5 months, at 19 months he STTN maybe 1-2 times a week. Our 4 month old STTN every day...we are scared she'll pull a fast one on us like her brother at 5 months. Fingers crossed

My first was not a very good sleeper.
Second one was a really good sleeper.
Third was a great sleeper until 7 months when we moved (2 weeks ago) and she got a double ear infection (last week)
She now wakes multiple times a night and wants either picked up or her binkie. Where before she would self soothe and hardly wanted a binkie.
I'd love to sleep in bed with my husband again lol

@hilsy85: It definitely makes a difference. Now, I feel like we have to get through toddler tantrums before considering another one.

I have two, but it probably doesn't count since they were at the same time. And since they're not sttn consistently at almost 9-months old, I would say, that neither are good sleepers. Here's hoping if we have a number 3, it will swing the other way!

both of my kids are pretty good sleepers, but DD was a great sleeper early on (we also sleep trained early) so i don't know if it's because we sleep trained or if she's a good sleeper naturally. for as long as i can remember she was sleeping 11-12 hours at night and taking 1.5-2 hour naps several times a day.

DS is a naturally great sleeper, but his naps were rocky until he hit 6 months. he's 9 months now and we've never sleep trained. he takes 2 hour naps regularly, but he has early wake times.

#1 was awful until we sleep-trained and at 2+years, she's still a great sleeper.

#2 is a great napper but nighttime is a bit crazy right now.

This is one of my fears about TTC #2. LO was a tough, colicky baby whose sleep didn't improve until sleep training at 6 months old. I worry about having another tough 6 months of no sleep again.

dd was a good sleeper until she started crawling. we had her on a floor bed so.. 9-18 months was misery. 18-a few days ago good. The last 4 days have been crazy.
ds has been a great sleeper from day 1. fingers crossed that he sleeps well forever!

@mrsjyw: hahaha my fear is that #2 will be just as bad of a sleeper! I've had a few moments these past few weeks were I asked myself "do I really want to go through this again?!".

Was your First LO a better sleeper? Your Second LO? Neither? Both?

I think my BIGGEST fear about TTC next year/LO#2 is that we will have to pay our dues to the sleep gods, because DS is SUCH a good sleeper (& eater for that matter).

My mom told me that I was an easier baby than my younger brother too.

EEEEEEEEEEK!
