@HappyBaker: no I don't feel like we had t together with two. But I do feel like with 3 a lot of bad habits are catching up with us. Like letting them sit on our lap at dinner. Or graze on their lunch etc. with 3 everything has to be pretty efficient and we are trying to catch up.

@lilteacherbee: I recently read this page because I would waaay rather get 3 new seats that fit safely than a new car. I love my Outback!

http://www.thecarcrashdetective.com/2015/06/the-6-narrowest-car-seats-that-will-fit-3-across-in-any-vehicle.html/

@HappyBaker: I feel like 2 has been so easy for us. Going from 0 to 1 was an huge adjustment for me, 1 to 2 was a breeze. I am praying the transition from 2-3 is as easy as 1-2 but I won't get my hopes up!

@skipra: IF we do end up getting a new car, I have loved the Pilots since they redesigned and I think that's what I would go for. I want something with AWD but don't want a suburban or Tahoe (lots of moms with 3+ around here drive them I feel like!). I'm not sure if I'm ready for minivan territory yet!

@oliviaoblivia: that is all my friends with minivans! they love them!

@HappyBaker: we've always wanted three, so when the kids were about 9 months, we started trying again for three. Not because we felt like we were doing so well with parenting lol. For number four, we just felt like we loved our third sooo much, we could see ourselves with another.

@matador84: I have an Equinox, which will fit 3 across with a couple Radians and an infant bucket. We are definitely done with these 3! I'm relatively young, but this pregnancy has been harder physically than my first two and three is all we can handle financially, mentally, etc.

I became a SAHM after our second was born because I was a teacher (and super burnt out, so I didn't want to basically work for free after daycare).

I have a question for those of you with 3 or more! When you had just two did you feel like you were totally killing it as a parent all the time? Or were there days you still felt overwhelmed with just 2? I really want a third but am wondering if everyone that has 3 is just rocking this parenting game more than me haha.

I haven't totally ruled out a 4th yet! Even numbers just seem more appealing so one is not often excluded.

I drive a Pilot with 3 across. My old car did not allow for 3 across, otherwise we just would have changed the car seats. We figured since we had to get a new car it made sense to get one that we could fit more passengers. We needed AWD and I wanted 3 across in the second row so it totally ruled out minivans. One thing that makes me a bit hesitant to ever go for #4 is that we would never be able to all fit in a regular car. Seemingly insignificant but has the potential to be troublesome.

Hey! I have a a 5.5 year old boy, almost 4 year old boy, and 8 month old baby girl! The first few months were complete madness, for real. And yes I am still considering number 4. Baby's birth was pretty traumatic so I still need to recover mentally. But no regrets! Life is fuller and better!

Congrats! 4.5y girl, 2y girl, and a 7w old boy here! Transition has been not too bad so far -- about the same as 1-to-2 for us (0-to-1 was by far the hardest!).

I drive a Honda Pilot with 3 across in the middle. May eventually spring for the mini-van, but not in the middle of winter ;) So far the Pilot is pretty solid, and it's still easy to reach the kids in the backseat when we need. But we don't do a lot of car-travel other than normal school drop-off/pick-up and errands during the week.

@matador84: I always wanted 4, my husband, not so much. After this pregnancy being much more difficult than my others ( no complications, just harder physically and mentally) I'm done. I no longer have any interest in a 4th. I grew up with 3 siblings and loved it and always wanted the big family, but no haha.

Dh and I both work out of house. I have really crappy hours and will look for something in the evenings only before I go back. Dh doesn't have benefits and I do, so we do neee to consider that. Plus, when I go back, we only neee to pay for daycare for all 3 for 9 months before my oldest starts full day kindergarten. Then we just need to find after school care for her until dh is off.

We drive a Toyota Sienna. I was 100% anti minivan, but when we were trying for a third, we new it would just make life easier ( especially as we also have a 110lb dog.) I actually really love it and couldn't imagine not driving a van, so much space!

Congrats!
Mine are 5, new 3 and 3 months. It's been the hardest transition for us. I was sick with mastitis and a solid fever early on then everyone got sick including newborn so we had to spend a few nights in the hospital (he's fine). So it meant additional days off for DH and my mom coming down to help out with the others. This past week the stomach flu went through, which was no fun but we didn't need to call in reserves this time, but whew it's a lot of night time waking up. We've also had other stuff going on, which meant unplanned travel and a number of unplanned visitors. Not bad, but just more chaos and tiredness at an already chaotic time. But there's lots of love and our older two love having a sibling.

We've added it up and one paycheck still covers daycare plus about $1200 plus benefits. I think long term the additional extra costs of three will be covered by that

@matador84: DH and I both WOH. I'm off for a year (Canada) and have am employer top up close to my regular pay, I make more on mat leave 😜. When it's time to go back with care for three (not sure what our plan is yet) my salary is still bringing some money in after daycare. We have been planning for four kids, but both weirdly have a complete feeling as of now, interested to see if it lasts or if the fever will get us again. I don't know any families of 4 kids (or more) that both parents WOH, but I think we would definitely need someone in the house for care, and even some meal prep to help our day to day. My pension and benefits at work are another big factor to keep working.

@coopsmama: Sort of both. Not actively TTC, if it didn't happen we were fine and if it did, we would be happy too. The older our kids got, the more we realized how much we wanted to add to our family! The kids are constantly asking for a baby, so I can't wait to see how they react when we tell them!

@skipra: That is my hope! My older two love each other so much, I think they will be great with another little one. If my phone had not broke about 3 weeks ago I think I could pinpoint date of conception exactly, but I'm just having to guess since I can't get any of the data off my phone. I think I'm about 5 weeks which would be an late September due date.

How many of you have 3 but want a 4th? That was one thind I always told DH that if we had 3, I had to have 4--I believe in the buddy system! Ha!

Also, do any of you WOH? It's funny my biggest concern has nothing to do with the pregnancy. My older two go to private school. With a 3rd, we don't want to pay for 3 childcares/tuitions because it would make me practically working for free. BUT, I really enjoy working and I think it's important for my kids at the ages they are at to be in school, so right now that is the biggest hang up.

for us the transition to three was by far the easiest as well. our are 4, 3, 1. hope you have a great pregnancy and birth! for me, being pregnant with two little ones at my ankles was the hardest part. physically the pregnancy was harder too, my body was probably just tired of being preggers :). after she was born everything was much smoother.

4.5, 2.5, and 13 weeks here! It's a bit crazy sometimes, but more manageable than I thought it would be. The baby isn't the cause of the tricky parts - those are my preschoolers doing normal preschool things! 😝

Congrats!
