It helped me. I think as a new mom, I appreciated the baby care tips also. I also went back to work when DS was 8 weeks old and I HAD to have him on some type of schedule, and as a new mom I didn't know how to put a baby on a schedule. He was sleeping through the night with one and on occasion two wakes since 5 weeks. MoC is tough because the schedule can be hard. but, you never let your baby cry more than 10 minutes between weeks 2-8. At first, I was like "omg," but then I realized sometimes in the car he cries more than 10 minutes and its not like I can do anything about it and he's just fine.

We did Happiest Baby on the Block also and combined with moms on call I have had an excellent experience with my new baby! I know when he is asleep and awake and never have to stress about taking him anywhere. He has never has a meltdown in a public place, and in fact NEVER had a real meltdown period because I feel like he has learned to self-soothe.

Others may feel differently, but this is just my personal experience. $30 wasn't too much for me to have piece of mind and it was recommended to me by two close friends who have 5 kids between them and one had 3 almost back to back!

Honestly? I wasn't impressed with it at all. I paid $30 for their online seminar and didn't use their tips at all. They basically outline a schedule for you for various ages, give you the 5 S's and then say that at around 3-4 months you can put your baby to bed at 7/8pm, say night night, then you don't go in and see them until morning. I'm not even exaggerating!!

I think the best sleep book is Health Sleep Habits, Happy Child or Ferber's book.

In terms of routine, we use an Eat, Play, Sleep routine that we started around 6 weeks that has worked great! We didn't get into a true schedule until my LO turned 7-8 months and we were on 2 naps. I tried to follow the baby whisperer EASY schedule at 4 weeks but realized my LO wasn't a robot who would sleep and be hungry when I wanted him to!

I know this is an old thread, but I want to know if anyone else had experience with this system/program. I've seen some blog posts elsewhere that rave about it and other people who say that it is bad for babies (because it is anti-attachment parenting?). Does it involve a lot of "cry it out" or is it just more getting into a routine? My little guy is almost six weeks old and I think we both need more structure and routine in our days and nights!

It is awesome to hear it working for so many. I am desperate to have my son sleeping through the night (or close) by the time I go back to work. My husband works out of town during the week and it freaks me out having a new baby, being home alone and going back to work in 6 weeks after. Anyone with any more info, pass along!

We are having them come for an in home consultation next week!! We got the book for a shower gift (all of our friends have had them come and swear by them!) and I have been using their techniques religously for about a week...Baby Girl isnt sleeping thru the night (yet), but shes only waking up once...and we have gotten a couple of 5 hour stretches out of her (she's only 3 weeks so I'm not expecting too much).

Used them, loved them. M was STTN at 3.5 weeks and has only had to nurse at night four times since then! I don't know what it is that worked, but they're amazing!

We had the personal consultation via email service.

It is like totally underground! I have heard so much about Babywise, and some other methods but nothing about MOC until my friend told me about it. I value her opinion extremely highly as well considering she has had 3 kids in 3 years!! There isn't even a lot out there on the internet about it...just try googling Moms on Call and it will take you to the site. She told me her and another friend split the dvd's-she bought the baby ones and her friend bought the next step up.

Anyways...she is sending me the dvds. I will probably go for it, especially since it can't seem to hurt.

That is amazing to me. I tried to read babywise and just had to abandon the book I thought it was so boring. I am a lot more interested in MOC, and would like to hear from others if they have used it as well.

I used it and loved it! It says a lot of the same stuff as the books - secrets of the baby whisperer, babywise, healthy sleep habits happy child - and also has some infant care tips. I recommend it it all my new mom friends. I didn't use it until LO was about 11-12 weeks I think...I discovered it late. I kind of did a modified approach for the bedtime routine but followed it pretty closely for a daytime routine/naps. LO is 6 months and sleeps 12-13 hours a night with no wake ups or feedings. She was sleeping 10 hours a night around 2.5 months...she is just a sleepy baby but momsoncall and babywise and healthy sleep habits happy child all helped me so much (I used to have to hold/sway her to sleep and that was not sustainable for me).

I just had a friend tell me about Moms On Call. She has had 3 kids in three years, and swears by it with her youngest. Of course, everyone has their own "thing" a lot of the time. I'm due in August and figured it can't hurt...anyone out there using their methods?
