I was going to say deli meat if it is for your LO! If DH would just eat it for dinner then I would serve it more often. Also you can buy cooked frozen chicken breast strips as well as chicken nuggets. Another shortcut I take is buying pre-cooked meatballs and adding pasta sauce over noodles although that is just for me and DH since LO isn't here yet.

@jennylynn: I give it once in a while - I feel like w/ everything else - in moderation it's ok.

My LO doesn't love eggs, but I do offer that frequently.

Also, I tend to freeze some meals that he likes into smaller portions. Example? He loves a beef in gravy w/ carrots dish. I froze 2/3 of it into 3 separate containers and defrosted one overnight so tonight he'll have that for dinner.

@winniebee: I was wondering if deli meat was ok. I'm not a huge meat eater myself, but we always have sandwhich meat at our house.

I cook up a chicken breast with a little olive oil, garlic and pepper for E sometimes and cut it up into pieces. That will last for a few meals when I serve it with some veggies. Other good quick proteins, scrambled eggs and beans. Or I'll cook a meatloaf one night and both of us can eat off of it a few nights.

We have really just been feeding LO what we have for dinner lately!

For daycare, I pack leftovers (last night's chicken for quessadilla, rice, and avacado chunks).

In a pinch, I give him contents of canned soup, deli meat, or steamed veggies. We also always have some homemade red sauce and pasta in the fridge (which is his favorite).

LO is becoming more interested in table foods vs. purees, and I'm finding myself at a loss with what to feed her! I used to do a lot of cooking, but DH works 3rd shift now, so I don't cook during the week. I need help with some idea or quick and healthy foods I can share with LO....particularly meats. Thanks in advance!
