We have an audio only monitor which I love because it only turns on if she is noisy. We do use it for naps or when she is playing happily in her crib or activity mat and it allows me to get some things done in the house.

I carry mine around when he is napping, even though I totally don't need to. Mainly because he doesn't make much noise when he wakes up so it's nice to know when he's awake!!

I totally do. I pretty much keep it next to me during the whole nap. I also like to know when exactly LO falls asleep, because it varies a lot.

Ha I'm the one that obsessively looks at it. We live in a thousand square foot condo, the only place you can't actually hear her if she's crying is in the shower with the water running. Yet I still use the video monitor. :)

I do like to look and see what time she actually falls asleep, since she will roll around or play with her stuffed animals for a bit before falling asleep. But no it's not necessary.

Do you use your monitor during naps?
I will have the sound on if I'm busy cleaning or far away from her room
My DH will carry it around with him hits the video button to look at her every 5-10minutes.....lol
