@Corduroy: Well I imagine if it wasn't under the bed it would be in the closet, or in the room...I was generalizing "under the bed" since it's so common, he's actually only ever said "in my room" :(

I was thinking maybe a little bit of lavender oil in some water? I've tried talking to him about how monsters aren't real, but it's not helped when he's scared at 5AM :crying:

I'm hoping a floor bed prevents the monsters under the bed issue for us.

I have not dealt with this but a blogger I follow "Bower Power" just did a whole write up on something similar and how they worked through it.

We've been dealing with this off and on for a couple of months. Spray does help, and we also clap and yell at the "ghost."

I've heard of the monster spray idea but it never sat right with me. It seems like it is giving credence to the idea that they are real....

@lovehoneybee: Totally normal, I think! Mrs. Train had an awesome roundup of what worked with her kids:

I've heard of the monster spray and it's definitely something I'm going to try.

L has been scared of dinosaurs, lately. Like, he loves them and "rawrs" all the time, but if he's faced with one he runs to me saying "mommy! I'm scared!". So, I don't really know what that's about. No monsters yet though!

The past two or so weeks Evan has crawled into bed with us almost every morning between 5:15-5:30, cuddled up close, and told me there are monsters in his room trying to hurt him.

He's 38 months, is this a normal time for the monsters under the bed? How did you deal with it? One of my friends said she always had "Monster Spray" for her sons that she would spray in their room before bed.
