So, I buy pens for the library but I bring my own nicer pens in for my personal use at school. Although I think unless it was a REALLY nice pen I'd hesitate to ever call that stealing. </p> <p>I have sort of a weird work circumstance because we have an office but I work from home 95% of the time. I use my own computer, and I often have to leave for meetings right from my house and/or print and mail stuff from home. My boss did buy me a printer for my house. So I take a lot of office supplies home (notepads, pens, envelopes, paper, stamps) because I need them at my house. But I also use them for personal stuff because they're floating around my house. At the same time, sometimes I run out of paper or stamps or whatever and then I use my personal stuff for work purposes. I guess I feel like at my salary level it's not worth anyone's time for me to keep strict track of who paid for what. And I don't think my boss expects me to. It's a very gray line.</p> <p>@Sapphiresun: makes a good point. Sometimes nto all employers provide all the equipment necessary for you to do your job and you end up using your own equipment. You don't get reimbursed for it. That said, I'm sure companies know it happens even accidentally. Toss one in your purse on the way to a meeting and forget about it kind of thing.</p> <p>I "steal" AA batteries from work and DH always gives me a hard time about it. I have a job that I need to use a camera, but am not supplied one, so I use my personal camera.
