@78H2O: Same here! I only get 8-10oz at work too so I have to pump at night and in the morning on the side she did not feed on just to get enough (15oz for her bottles). And sometimes I still come up short. So frustrating! I ended up getting the MMP liquid instead of the capsules because I read somewhere the liquid works faster. I don't know if that's true of not but I need more milk quick! And yes, it does taste disgusting!

@mrs. stroller: I've been pumping like a maniac! Right when I noticed my supply dipped she decides to go on a nursing strike! So for the past week I've been pumping like crazy! She would only take the boob if I trick her with a small bottle first. Good to know the MMP worked well for you. I just got mines yesterday and excited to try!

@chopsuey119: I saw your post about your friend's INSANE amount of milk. Holy cow! Yes, I will definitely need to remember to eat more pork. Mmm BACON!

@mewtill: Thanks! Good to know they worked for you too! I ended up getting the MMP liquid yesterday. I'm hoping they will work quickly for me like they did for you too!

@Mrs. Chen: my son is a little over 7 months and I had a dip in supply. I was barely making the 10.5 oz I needed for his bottles (I pump 3x a work and had done a pm session but it was getting too hard for me). On a whim I got some MMP capsules.

Those babies work. I did 2 days of the 4 doses and am easily pumping 12+ oz in 3 sessions. My pumping time has been cut in half, too! (From 20 min to 10) I cut back to only 2-3 doses for a few days, and I think I'm going to go down to even just 1 dose a day. I've noticed my son is gassier (which may be from the fenugreek) and is often pulling away while nursing. I think the amount/flow is too much now. I read that MMP will boost your supply and then your baby can regulate it back down to what they need.

The capsules are smaller than prenatals & you're supposed to limit water intake right when you take them, but they're not awful. I do notice some weird smelling burps if I don't swallow the with enough water though.

Good luck!

@Mrs. Chen: The MMP worked really well for me. Pumping after she nurses is more to stimulate your breasts to signal that you need to start making more milk - it's a demand system and your body will respond if it's being "asked" for more milk. If you pump after nursing you should see an increase in output within a week or so. That and MMP should help. Good luck!

@Mrs. Chen: When I pump after feeds I only get a little bit, but the stimulation really helps me to start making more a few days later... so it's not really about the amount I'm getting at the moment, it's about signaling to my body to make more.

I think my daughter would possibly drink more at daycare if I could pump more, but I'm trying to have her EBF and the most I can eek out is 14-16 oz/day... only 8-10 at work and then I have to somehow get the rest that night and the next morning. It is SO touch and go, but I am only 3 weeks from my goal (6 mo EBF), so I'm trying to squeak by. I figure she will drink more in the am and pm if she's not getting enough there. She's happy and gaining appropriately, so I don't think I'm starving her. It's not easy though!

The MMP pills I had said to take 1 pill at a time if you are <175 lbs, 2 pills if you are >175 lbs. I think you're supposed to take them 3-4x/day.

@78h20: Thanks! Currently I'm pumping 5x a day (once in the morning on the side she did not feed on, 3x at work, and both sides at night before I go to sleep). DD recently increased her bottle intake from 4oz to 5oz (She could probably take even more if I could pump more!), and I just can't keep up! When you pump right after feeds do you get any milk? I feel like whenever I try to pump after she feeds, even if i wait an hour, I barely get anything! If MMP capsules are comparable to Tynenol I might be able to handle that...it's those ginormous prenatal horse pills that make me gag! Although it sounds like the liquid form might make me gag too!

@owlmom: Thanks! I'll take a look at the liquid form too.

@chelsearose: Haha! Oh man, I might just have to torture myself with gross drops!

FWIW, I should add that I sorta tried to follow the MMP directions, but often took them with more water than directed or too close to having something to drink. I prob only got on 3 doses some days. So maybe they would have worked better if I'd been more adherent, I dk.

You have to take multiple pills per dose and they are average size gel caps with liquid inside. The drops are really gross, but I've gotten used to them. The only issue with the gross drops is that you're not supposed to have a lot of liquid before or after. One of my friends (I don't think it was anyone on here, but maybe?) said that there is no reason for the government to use water-boarding with the MMP drops in existence because they are torturous.

I used the liquid, and it's really not that bad :) It took several days to see an increase, but it definitely helped me.

ETA: when I used it, I followed the directions exactly - every recommended dose, no water for 15 minutes before and after, etc.

I've been barely scraping by with no stash whatsoever, so I totally get the panic. Honestly, I've tried everything and what's helped the most is pumping after feeds and adding pumping sessions (including power pumping). It takes about 2-3 days, but then I get several oz more.

Drinking and eating more also helps, as does getting more sleep.

The More Milk Plus pills aren't much bigger than a Tylenol pill (not capsule, which is smaller) but in MMP is in capsule form. I don't know if it helped me though.

My milk supply has taken a dip! I use to be able to pump enough for LO's bottles the next day but lately been coming up short and needing to take from my freezer stash. As of today I only have five bags left. Eek! Panic!

I already got Mothers Love tea but I read on HB there's this magical pill called More Milk Plus? How big is this pill exactly? I'm sort of a big wimp taking big pills (I take prenatal gummies!). I know there's a liquid form too but does it really taste nasty?! How long did it take for you to see an increase? Please let me know your thoughts!
