Yes mine does this with everything she likes. If she likes a snack, she asks for more even if she still has plenty. If she likes an activity or something, she asks for more even though it doesn't really make sense. My "favorite" recently was "more pumpkins!" on our walk home from daycare. She'd get upset if we didn't see enough of them. I go back and forth between ignoring, trying to distract, and actually just giving in (when it's actually possible).

stalling for sure.

I keep a mug beside us during bedtime stories, and she asks for a few sips between the time we start and she falls asleep. So far it hasn't occured to her that she could ask for it to be fuller, lol

@Mrs. Sunshine: oh my gosh. My daughter has been doing this for over a year! She's 3.5 now and she threw a huge crying, screaming fit because she wanted more water tonight (she already had a drink). I finally caved and she took a half sip. I know she's not thirsty! It's definitely a stall tactic. Ugggh.

Mine does this a lot too with lots of things. This is dumb and probably won't work, but I say "you can have more apples (or whatever) the second that you finish those apples. Mommy will go running all the way to the kitchen and get some". For some reason with her it works a solid 80 percent of the time. She obviously never eats/drinks whatever it was she was demanding more of.

@autumnlove: yeah I had to let her cry in her bed till she fell asleep last night. When she woke up her cup was still full, so it's not like she was even thirsty. Ahh, the second year.

My 2 year old demands more water in her straw cup often, especially to stall at nap and bedtime, but lately when I fill her cup and give it back, she demands that she needs "MORE! MORE! MOREEEEE WAAAATEERRRR!" It makes me ragey. I try to show her that her cup is full but she still loses her freaking mind. Even if I go back and get her "more" again, she will often start the crying all over again. I don't know how to diffuse the situation. Anyone else's toddler act this way?
