Morning milk & evening milk both have compositions that help wake up (morning) &/or relax (evening) so it definitely could, especially if bebe is used to getting am/pm milk at their coinciding times.

Most of my pumping is done in the morning and most of the milk given to my LO is in the evening right now. It has never been an issue.

I've heard about that study too and did worry about it for my lo who was in the NICU, but the nurses said it's not that big of deal. And he sleeps well. It is possible that your baby is more sensitive than others?

It kind of makes me angry for the researcher to say this:

"It is a mistake for the mother to express the milk at a certain time and then store it and feed it to the baby at a different time"

I think it's ideal to feed the baby with milk produced right then, but so many people are unable to do that.

@purrpletulips: I thought about that but he wasn't gassy and actually wanted to eat an extra time :/

DH sent me this article http://www.news-medical.net/news/20091003/Breast-milk-should-not-be-stored-and-fed-later.aspx but it looks like y'all aren't having the same experiences and "real life" mamas are more accurate than studies :)

I guess I'll just chalk it up to coincidence and soldier on!

I think it's just coincidence! Maybe more gassy from the extra milk?

I hope you get some sleep today/night mama!

Probably a coincidence. Perhaps he was having some tummy issues from being more full that usual and trying to sleep?

Tried giving LO extra milk last night before bed bc I feel like my supply is low from illness. He gobbled it up but had his worst night ever - wide awake and hard to put back down after eating and then up more than ever. The milk was pumped in the morning... I know it has pick me up qualities then. So could it be that I should only give morning milk in the morning?? Or is it just a coincidence??
