@Anagram: I read both malate and citrate can help, but malate is recommended because it's absorbed faster and builds your levels up quicker. Not sure how true it is, of course, just what I read.

Which type of magnesium is supposed to help with this? There are several different types, right?

I tried it and it did not help though. I have hyperemesis though, so my morning sickness is extreme.

I tried the powdered drink mix and it didn’t touch my morning sickness. but...worth a shot!

I did the magnesium spray. I don't think it helped much with nausea (I had it pretty badly), but it did help a lot with insomnia. I hope the MS is short lived for you

@DesertDreams88: Well, if nothing else I could use the anxiety relief. Being nauseous makes me really anxious!

I took mag during my 2nd pregnancy but I don't think it helped my nausea, sorry :-/

It totally helped my anxiety, constipation, insomnia, and light sleeping. I still take it regularly and I've started giving MagKidz to my toddler.

@Kaohinani: Ohhhh OK, that makes sense. Right now I'm having the opposite of constipation anyway, LOL.

@turquoisemama: Ugh yeah 6 or 7 or more weeks seems soooo long! I was considering the spray. We already have some of the powdered drink mix so I may try that first. Thanks!

@IRunForFun: I did the magnesium spray. I would just spray it on after showering. I can’t say for sure that it helped but I think it did a little bit. I was also taking Unisom B6 which helped the most. But really it just took time to get through it. Hang in there, it sucks :bummed:

@IRunForFun: It is but calcium in larger doses can constipate. I was also taking a prenatal, extra folic acid, a plethora of medications. My OBGYN stated that the mag/cal mix did it for me. 🤷‍♀️

@IRunForFun: I used magnesium with calcium supplements while pregnant with my son. I only had very minor nausea with him (not at all like the 24-7 nausea I had with DD) so it helped considerably. The ONLY downfall - I suffered from EVEN WORSE constipation. I suppose the trade off was worth it though.

@IRunForFun: I started magnesium/calcium supplement after doing the same unisom/B6/sea bands. I think I took it twice a day (can’t really remember). But it really helped. Hope you feel better soon!

Did anyone try a magnesium supplement to help with nausea? Or take one for another reason and found it helped? I'm trying to stay ahead of this constant nausea at only 6 weeks - already doing unisom + b6 and wearing sea bands.

Anyone have luck with the magnesium?
