Sounds like morning sickness. if you had the stomach flu, you'd be throwing up everything you eat and you wouldn't have much of an appetite.

Morning sickness feels like a disgusting stomach if not fed or pukey. Smells are the worst triggers for me. Stomach flu or another cold feels like I can barely get out of bed and function.

@blackbird: Luckily, I had some Zofran left over from my last pregnancy, so I just took some. You're right. No need to suffer through it.

Whenever I've had the stomach flu, I've gone through waves of it. I throw up, I feel great....about 50 min later, I get severely nauseated and light headed, then puke again. Then feel great. It's a cycle that lasts a good 12 hours. I always get fun diarrhea with the stomach flu, too. My stomach would hurt more, too, like something is working overtime in there...and then is totally gone a couple days later.

Morning sickness felt more constant to me. More hangover-like. I got motion sickness even while driving. Sounds like MS to me :(

Stomach flu for me would just be the world crashing down! Throwing up and/or diarrhea, fever, chills, aches, etc etc... With morning sickness, I never threw up but I was just nauseous all day long.

With flu/stomach bug, I've always had chills, achy joints, a fever or runny nose or other symptoms. Morning sickness was more like a really, really bad hangover. I definitely did not want coffee when I first got pregnant, and had to drive throughout my pregnancy because being the passenger gave me really bad carsickness (and I never got car sick before!).

good luck!

Sounds like morning sickness to me. You'd probably have more symptoms (fever, aches) with the flu.

Sounds like morning sickness to me. Sorry you're feeling so rough.
I often compare it to feeling hungover.... for weeks.

i'm definitely not an expert, but i think a virus usually hits harder and faster (like one or two days of general ickiness and then BAM! you're sick).

How can you tell the difference between morning sickness and the stomach flu?
For the past week or so, I have been getting carsick, feeling generally queasy and not in the mood for things like coffee.
As of Friday, I started throwing up and dry heaving. I feel nauseated, especially between morning and 2. I am exhausted and just want to rest but not necessarily sleep. I am still eating. In fact, I am eating more than I normally do because I feel so sick when I don't eat. I don't think I have a fever.
With a few exceptions, this feels a lot like some kind of stomach bug except that it started Friday and is still going strong on Monday. My husband hasn't gotten sick. I feel awful.
This is probably an idiotic question but I didn't have morning sickness with my other pregnancies, so this is new to me.
Does this sound like morning sickness or the flu? How can you tell the difference between a bug and morning sickness (other than the fact the morning sickness sticks around a lot longer?)
