@pastemoo: I'm sorry you're struggling so badly!! I would check with your doctor, you're really busy right now and that's probably not helping things! I do remember that feeling of opening the fridge and feeling like barfing. Just opening the fridge! I hope you get some relief soon.

No harm at all in talking to your on/mw about it! I didn't lose as much this time, but I am s mom to s toddler and was having a hard time getting through the day. I tried diclegis and ended up using zofran again. It made a huge difference. Hope you find something that helps!

I would go ahead and ask. I waited until my 8 week appointment and I was miserable. I threw up in the middle of my appointment and my doctor chastised me for waiting so long to say anything. She said I should have just called. I will say that Diclegis is not a miracle drug. I still have days were I vomit a few times and if I don't take it right on schedule I find myself in bed from extreme nausea. It also makes me very sleepy. However, it is still better than vomiting all day long and I think you will find it beneficial to call now as opposed to waiting. Btw:I had a major aversion to saltines. So, if those don't work just find a carb that works for you. I also ate a ton of those real fruit Popsicles. They were a life saver.

If you can't keep anything down or its totally disrupting your life, then ask for something. For me, the only thing that made it go away was being full... later, u found out that I'm hypoglycemic and therefore have low blood sugar and need more food to make me feel better anyway. So, first, I would try eating more, and if that foes nothing, then I would talk to your doctor

Diclegis saved me. My only regret is that I waited until 10 weeks. Life was so much more bearable after I got on that stuff! My NVP never subsided and I ended up taking it until the day I had my baby. I vomited once a week or so up to the end, even ON Diclegis. I am not sure how me or my baby would have made it without!

@ScarletBegonia: i mean, i'm not that bad, right, i'm just tired and grumpy and hungry and sometimes i open the fridge and it makes me puke. @ScarletBegonia: @gingerbebe: alright, i'll call Monday and see. they were pretty serious about me not going in before 8 weeks. i wonder what they'll say. sounds like it's worth it to ask.

My HMO stopped prescribing Zofran because of conflicting studies and my OBGYN is freely telling preggos to go for homemade Diclegis - it's 25mg of B6 (usually half a tab) with 1 tab of Unisom (the sleeptabs that are 25mg Doxy--- and not the fast melts which are another drug). She says it's completely safe and you can take it up to 3 times a day. Make sure you are hydrated - that is pretty important!

@pastemoo: I only like saltines in my soup so I had to find something else to eat when I had HG. Pretzels and graham crackers worked for me. I agree that you should see your dr if you can't function day to day without feeling sick. I don't know what mild morning sickness feels like since I had HG but I could not sit at my desk without dry heaving. I had pretzels at my desk the whole time.
Do you know your pre-pregnancy weight and how much weight you have lost? I would keep track of that.
Are you taking any meds? Do you want to take meds? I had to take meds for me to feel (mostly) better.
ETA: Are you eating? If you aren't eating anything, I would get drugs so you can eat and support yourself and your baby.

I'm a wuss, so I happily asked for Diclegis from my doc. I can't focus on work or take care of my daughter if I'm sick all the time. It absolutely keeps me functional.

@pastemoo: ugh you poor thing! I find that eating them before I get out of bed and then every 30 minutes or so has kept the nausea at bay. Have you tried B6? It can't hurt to call your doctor ahead of your appt if you're miserable and not able to function well.

Ok. I'm vomiting up mostly saliva because I'm eating so little, but it comes with the full stomach heaving motions, and is very sudden/alarming. This is 1-2x/day on average. Very rarely there is a day without, or a day with 4x.

I have saltines in my backpack, bedside, car, and kitchen. I hate saltines. But I haven't tried to eat them constantly (or that constantly). I've heard about it. I guess it is time to try.

I think if you're losing weight that's a good time. Have you tried eating saltines constantly throughout the day? If I go too long between eating it's way worse! Are you vomiting or just nauseous? If vomiting, you need to make sure you aren't dehydrated so if you are then again important to ask for help. Hope you feel better soon! It totally sucks!

Hi bees,

When is morning sickness a problem when you should go to the doctor? I feel weak and tired because I'm losing weight and having a hard time eating.
My first appointment is in 13 days.

I am nauseated all day long and nothing seems to help. Most days, 4pm is my savior, and then I can eat anything, it doesn't even matter if it's steak, or salad, or rice, or whatever. If it is any other time of day, or some magical day where 4pm doesn't happen for me, even saltines make me feel sick.

I'm a student and having trouble focusing and I don't know if I need to just eat something super fast and pray it stays down, or ask for meds, or wait and be patient.

I'm generally a little hypochondriac, so it's probably not that bad. I know plenty of people get worse morning sickness than I have, it's just much more intense than it was with my son.

Thank you for your ideas and input!
