I actually read a book about the science of pregnancy and it said the best way to tell was if your boobs got really big. If yes, girl, if not, boy but idk how accurate that is either.

My skin is a warzone, also.

I had pretty average morning sickness lasting until about 18 weeks. I have a boy. For me, my skin maintained and didn't break out. That was my first indication that I was having a boy. I had the strongest feeling he's a boy and I was right.

So sick from 7 weeks into the 20 week mark (less throwing up after 15 weeks). Heart rates in the 160's and I had a boy.

My MIL was sick the whole time with both my husband and SIL, and my mom was sick for a week with my brother and myself. I really don't buy into the old wives tales, I think it is how YOU react to pregnancy.

I had a similar level of nausea (bearable but not nonexistent) for both my kids (boy and girl). If anything, slightly less for my girl. So I think it's an old wives tale!

I took Zofran for weeks b/c my morning sickness was awful, and I'm having boys. I've heard multiples make it worse, though, so I'm not sure my experience is reliable. For the record though, the boys heartbeats have almost always been in the 140s-150s, which I think is at least fairly consistent with the wives' tales about heartbeat & gender.

Absolutely zero morning sickness and I had a girl. Her heartbeat was also consistently in the low 140s, which should have indicated a boy. I also never swelled or had my 'looks stolen', and my linea nigra said boy too - so clearly none of the old wives tales were true for me!

So far, I haven't had any morning sickness (just nausea when I'm hungry or eat way too much) and the baby's heart rate has been below 160 so I'm guessing based upon old wives tales, I'm having a boy. Plus, my instincts tell me I'm having a boy too. Should be interesting to see what the ultrasound shows in a few weeks!

I didn't have hardly any but one of my best friends was so sick she couldn't leave the house and eventually got a prescription to help with the nausea. We both had boys.
Also, she stayed thin and active and healthy, good hair and skin. I was fugly, swollen, hot mess. So none of that "girls steal your beauty" business either.

@PrincessBaby: DS's heart was consistently 160/170s. My mom said she was told I was a boy and my brother was a girl (haha I loved when she told us this story) based on the heart rate, so maybe it's just how it is in our family?
