@Anagram: Not hidden apple, meaning that applesauce is the first ingredient. I can buy a giant jar of applesauce for $2 (equivalent of 5-6 pouches). So if I buy store bought pouches, I try to buy ones that have other ingredients that I can't easily buy/make.

That Ella's pouch listed about has the first ingredient Apple Puree

@T.H.O.U.: I've seen very few pouches in the baby aisle that have added apple, unless it's al all-fruit pouch and an apple is pictured on the front. None of the Gerber Organics, Plum Organics, Ella's Kitchen, Happy Family, or Earth's Best have "hidden" apple sauce. And those are basically the only companies that make baby food pouches, right?

But it's different with the pouches in the "fruit" aisle, next to the little cups of fruit. Those are basically applesauce.

My big issues with most pouches on the shelf is that the main ingredient is almost always Apple Puree (aka apple sauce). I'm not paying $1+ per pouch for apple sauce. There are a few you can find that have higher amounts of other ingredients.

It's been a slow and steady battle to get our youngest to eat. We started at 6 months but now at almost 9 she's just starting to like (sometimes) to eat solids. I've found the most successful is green beans and mango! She likes pretty much any combination of fruit as long as mango is in it, and she has a love/hate relationship with blueberries! Some days she LOVES it and some days she throws them across the room :)
