They are electric, rechargable, and they even light up as you use them to iluminate the food you are seasoning. We got a stained glass wall hanging that is two pandas climbing in a tree. Totally doesn't go with anything we have and the lady who gave it to us said "I always give people something I'd want, that way if they don't like it I can just keep it for myself!" Uhhh...? Okay...? It has lo's initial on one side, birth info on another, my name and dhs name on another side, the day and place he was born on another side. I thought it was a really neat personalized gift! </p>
