Do you think you can take too much of this stuff? I just ordered MMP and MMT to take along with my fenugreek and blessed thistle.

If this doesn't work, it just must not be meant to be.

@Mrs. Bee: Man I think the alcohol free version tastes horrible... I can't imagine what the original must taste like!

Has anyone had stomach issues with mmp? I want to try it but I have a sensitive stomach (throw up from vitamins have to use gummy ones) and I am worried it is going to make me sick. Oatmeal is helping me a little but not enough.

I'm going to have to order some today, I'm getting desperate! At 5 weeks pp I was getting avg 18 oz after 6 pumps. Now, 9 weeks pp, I'm lucky to get 10 oz after 6 pumps :'(

I'm taking fenugreek, maybe it's time to increase capsules.

@mrsjyw: Just FYI I'm noticing a slight improvement today. The last few days I've been getting two ounces off the side she doesn't eat from first thing in the morning, and then 4 ounces total at each pumping session at work. This morning I got 3 ounces off my other side and 5 ounces total at my first pumping session.

@MamaMoose: thank you! I'll remember that if this doesn't work. When my milk first came in, I had an oversupply. I recently had a stomach virus & my milk production took a huge, huge hit. I also pump just enough for daycare...barely! :( I'm hoping this will help!

@MarieJ: haha no worries. They are nice because they have fenugreek along with additional ingredients that can also boost production. So definitely something to consider if the fenugreek alone doesn't do it for you.

@MamaMoose: I know nothing about MMT, but DD's pediatrician suggested taking fenugreek (1500mg 3 times a day) for a month. He "claimed" it was the best herbal supplement to boost supply.

I found Amazon to have the best prices, plus I have Amazon mom so it will be here on Monday which is great because i'm impatient!

@littlebittyhouse: yes thank you!! :)

right now, regardless if i pump 2x, 4 hours apart, or 3x 3 hours apart... ive been averaging 12 oz total, with a random 15 oz day here or there. i'd like to pump 15-20oz, so i think i'm going to look into supplements, is buying on amazon the best route?

@mrsjyw: i never went back to engorgement days. it just upped my supply by about 3 ounces so that I wasn't freaking out over bringing home enough.

i went from pumping 7-9 ounces my first session down to 5 ounces EEK! after supplementing and power pumping I now routinely get 6-7 ounces and 8 on a good day!

Does that help?

question for you, my supply def took a hit too when i went back to work. i make just enough to cover my office days without having to dip into the freezer stash. and i'm okay with not adding to the stash. however, feel like it's a slipper slope and that my supply will eventually dip again. (it does help that i nurse 4 days of the week on my wfh/wknd days).

if i took supplements like these, would i be back to engorgement days, or do they just up your regular supply in cycles? hope that made sense.

@MamaMoose: liquid does not have soy. Same thing happend to me with the caps - I was so MAD! I know better to read the bottle too!

MMT helped a little I think - I drank it 45min before I would pump. I upped my water, calories and power pumped a few times. I think it was the power pumping that really got my supply back up.

We also started co-sleeping when my supply dipped. I am not back to what I was producing when I first came back to work but I no longer worry about making *enough* and sometimes have a little extra.

When I need to add to my stash I usually end up having to pump over the weekend which I hate to do.

@MamaMoose: I didn't drink the tea, but I took the pills. I noticed a tiny bump in milk production the first week, but I noticed a HUGE spike in the amount of milk after about 3 weeks. Like, from about 3 oz per session to 7 or 8 oz, even in the afternoon.

note: I took it religiously like it said (no food/drink 30 min before or after the pills) and I was pumping more than nursing because I was at work.

Does MMP liquid form have soy? That's what I used and it definitely helped. I also did take the tea you can buy at the supermarkets. I can't say I noticed a huge difference, but I just tried to drink it whenever I remembered. I have a whole box leftover, you want me to send to you? It isn't expired until later this year. I could unpack the box and mail it as a letter :-)
