The only time I've done it is with jetlag - never really had MOTN parties otherwise, milk was always able to soothe him back to sleep. I'd just make sure to keep it dark and keep the play really low-key. Keep your phone and any screens off. I'm sure its just a phase (the 4 month sleep regression was a MFer here, but involved multiple wake ups rather than one long one), but if you are playing with her in a bright room and playing active games, it might become more of a habit? Dunno. Good luck & I hope its over soon for you!

My LO is 5.5 months too and he suddenly started become more active in the middle of the night a week or 2 ago - it's like he wants to escape out of the crib - he's moving all around in there and sometimes talking up a storm.

My lo has been doing the same thing. I've been so scared to confuse her days and nights that I keep trying to put her to sleep unless it's after 5am. Anytime after that I'm willing to start our day.

@Mamaof2: @regberadaisy: @nana87: @Mamasig: So glad I'm not just plain crazy. DH thinks I've lost my marbles, but I just can't stand all the crying. I'm on the fence about believing Wonder Weeks, but this all started at the exact time she was starting a new leap... I'm going to wait until the leap is supposedly over to bother starting any sort of sleep training. It's a 4-week one though! :(

yes I have been there - it sucked but was much easier than trying to force them to sleep when they wanted to be awake!

Hope it passes soon!

Yeah, there's times where if it's been a couple days I just lay her on her bedroom rug and chill before trying again.

Sorry, mama!

We've done it off and on. Much less frustrating, I'd way rather let her play for 30 minutes than scream 2 hours

I say do what works! For a while when DS1 was around 1, he'd wake up and nothing would work to put him back to sleep but a car ride. So off we went. A 15 minute car ride was way quicker than fighting him to sleep. As with everything else, the phase will pass!

Has anyone just temporarily accepted their baby's middle of the night party time?
K is 5.5 months, and STTN from 7 weeks to just under 5 months, then it's all gone to hell. There is nothing that will comfort her in the middle of the night (not even me :crying: ) so I've taken to just getting up with her and playing from 3:30 - 5:00, and then put her down again at 5.
I'm sure I'm creating some awful habits, but otherwise it turns into 3 hours of screaming, and no one gets sleep.

Anyone else in the crazy boat with me?
