We have it and love it. It is grainy in night vision, but that doesn't bother us. Compared to my SIL's summer infant, this one is great. Love the fact that you can move it and zoom in from the handheld and add extra cameras for other kids/rooms. I'm telling my preggo sister to get this one.

i have the larger screen and smaller one. the larger one is way better because you can move the camera.

i think the summer infant might be clearer, but they have all died on me and my friends after about a year of use.

I have the 3.5" model and love it! I've seen other brand monitors and although the Motorola one is not crystal clear like a camera, it's got to be one of the clearer monitors out there. I noticed its also clearer when the light is on vs it's night vision mode. It's good enough for me since I can actually make out if LO's chest is moving so I know she is breathing.

hmmm. i didn't test the motorola out before buying it. i tested the summer infant one and i thought the summer infant one was crystal clear - like you're using a point and shoot. it's NOT like that with the motorola. it's definitely grainy - more grainer with the night vision, but that's okay, it's cool that we can see in the dark! and the color is off. i guess for $250, i'd want a camera-like quality in picture. =T

this is the one we have:

I think the picture quality is amazing! It's slightly (and I mean very slightly) grainy in the night vision mode, but otherwise I can see everything great. It also depends on how close you have to it what you're trying to observe. We originally had it relatively far away but because I wanted to see my daughter's face we moved it closer, and I can watch her, and see everything really clear. I had bought another video monitor before this one and hated it. By far this is the best monitor. I believe Mrs. Bee blogged about this monitor as well.

We have the 2.8 inch model as well... we like it. We don't use it all that often because LO sleeps in our room currently but when we do use it, the sound level is great! It is a bit grainy (esp more in night mode) but I think most baby monitors are around the same...?

Which one is the motorola 3.5? We had a motorola and we sold it...it wasn't that great, to be honest.

@skibobrown: aww, rabbit! we totally tested ours (summer infant non-digital video monitor) on our dogs before baby came too.

I'm interested to see the reviews here-- we're planning on getting this one to replace our sucky summer infant one.

We got the one that is slightly smaller -- I think 2.8". I think the picture quality is great. It is somewhat grainy in the IR night-vision mode, but we can still very clearly see what's going on. (We've been testing it on our pet rabbit for now, since baby isn't here quite yet.)

so we bought it and tested it out. for those that have this baby monitor, did you find that the quality is a bit on the grainy side? not crystal clear like a camera.....
