At one year, DD was napping poorly at daycare. I'd pick her up at 4:15pm, come home and eat dinner, and she'd be tucked in bed by 5:30-5:45pm every evening.

Yay! Glad she is napping better!

When my LO was that age, a late nap after daycare did not prevent her from going to bed early. I picked her up at 5:20 pm and she was sleeping by 7 pm even if she took a little nap in the car.

thanks for the advice! the past two days she randomly started taking a second nap at daycare and she is like a completely different (happy) kid! hoping this continues, otherwise we are definitely trying earlier bedtime.

I would try and see what happens! A few months back LO was clearly ready for a later bedtime of like 8pm. I fought to keep a earlier bedtime but it was miserable for us both. Now in the past few weeks she wants a 730 bedtime again! She can't make up her mind!

I would definitely try an earlier bedtime. Even when my LO has a late nap, I don't vary her bedtime by more than a half hour max. I would definitely try 7, and move it up to 6:45/30 if you need to. ((Hugs)) to you and your tired LO!

My LO is turning 1 next week. She naps great at home and we follow the 2-3-4 schedule for the most part while home. She goes to daycare full-time, and for the past few months has napped like crap there. She naps maybe 30 minutes total the entire day, on a GOOD day, and then she passes out in the car on our way home, and I usually let her sleep in the car with me for about an hour, from 5-6pm.

Bedtime is at 7:30pm and she is up for the day around 6:30am. The issue is that she is miserable / a complete psycho on daycare days, from the time we walk in the house at 6pm until we put her to bed. Does it make sense to try to just rush dinner and get her in bed ASAP? I feel like with her napping in the car so late it might be hard to go to bed earlier, but we definitely need a change!
